Posted - 30 Sep 2004 : 00:06:53 Hey all, I'm new to the board, thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Steve, I've been playing for about 13 years, on and off, and DMing for most of that time. I got back on the horse after third edition came out, played in a regular campaign for a while, and then ran a very successful (if you listen to my players, and I'd have to agree) eight-month campaign in The Vast.
The players started off in Tsurlagol, crossed the Earthspur Mountains, and traveled down the Fire River to Ravens Bluff. They spent a ten-day or so there, and then left the city heading back up to Dragon Falls.
Unfortunately, right about there, one of my players lost THE BIG FOLDER. That kinda de-railed the campaign (you have no idea how much work was in there - or, maybe you do...), and I spent awhile playing WH40K.
However... I just recently got "the bug" again, and started brain-storming for a new adventure to start out a new campaign. I'm starting in the village of New Hope, a halfling-dominated settlement outside of Raven's Bluff. The last group of PCs were heading there, and I did a ton of work on it, demographic breakdown and everything, and luckily it was all in the only surviving campaign notebook. So, I figured: Why not use that, and explore what exactly happened to these adventurers that suddenly disappeared - after all, they've made some powerful enemies.
And that's where I'm at now, the PCs are gonna be from New Hope, or at least have been there awhile, and during the inital adventure they're gonna hear some rumors about the PCs' disappearance, and of events that they had part in. Hopefully they'll get motivated to track down their abductors, and get a chance to see some of the story threads I laid down in the last campaign pay off.
I'll post here as this develops. So far I've got one player on board and I know what he's playing (a human druid - I'm psyched), and a few other probables. My brain's been popping like crazy with new ways to weave this story in with the last one, and ways to hook the characters into what's going on. Always a good feeling. |

Feel free to ask any questions you may have... A lot of us have been Realms fans for years, and we know a thing or three about the setting. Plus, we've got some of the authors and creators here!
As for the rest of us, we are friendly, mostly harmless, and occasionally strange... Enjoy your stay!
