Posted - 26 Aug 2004 : 04:27:19 I exchanged some posts on Enworld with Mystery Man.
I want you to know that his posts about Hellgate Keep on Enworld has inspired me to write an adventure set in, around, and about Hellgate Keep. One thing I say about Mystery Man, he is a great guy and you all are lucky to have him post here.
Thanks. |

I post as Mystery Man on both the WoTC and Enworld boards where I slog thru the trenches, getting involved in flame wars, edition wars, and in general being a complete pain in the neck to Realms bashers. Here I am a mild mannered friend of the elves doing my best to stay on Alaundo's good side. :)
And yes, I have started running my players through Hellgate Keep and so far they're wondering what they were thinking. Too bad there's no way out....no way out....
Interesting thing . . . I noticed that the map I'm using for Hellgate Keep adventure might as well be the Labyrinth. I don't know where the fiends have the time or the manpower to build such a dungeon.
No wonder there is no way out . . .

ENWorld has flame wars? But, it's such a loving community filled with friendship and goodwill. |

Well met, Sir Elton, and welcome ye to Candlekeep.
Hmmmm, Hellgate Keep eh? A lot of activity has appeared there again of late, I hope thou art not any ringleader in such
Huh? Uh . . . No . . . What makes you say that? It's not like I'm putting the heroes up against 2d4 Tempests . . . Oh wait, I am.
Edit:
Let me properly introduce myself. I'm 29 years old, and in 1993, I got myself a copy of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. I've been off and on the realms for years, mostly because I'm one of those types who has been forced to keep quiet about my hobby (Being a Mormon RPGer in a family of Mormons who still think RPGs are bad. go figure) and because of this I haven't been able to get any players. Other than my cousins, but they are 34 miles away. So I'm a miserable D&D player. :(
Actually, what I'm very good at is writing adventures. Heck, I'll write adventures for any d20 or non-d20 RPG if I'm given a fair shake at it. Adventures are actually the hardest to write of any RPG product since the act of writing one is a fair test on how you use the present material. So far, only two people believes that I'm very good at writing adventures, and I was the second person to be convinced. :D
I try to include all my knowledge of what I learned over the years into my writing. And among my other good habits I'm a scientist as well. So I might put a little science into my adventures in order to lend a little believability. So don't be surprised if any FR adventures from me may contain a little tidbit of Ecology, Climatology, or Geology here and there.
About being off and on of the FRCS. Well for one thing, when you talk about campaigns, some people try to brow beat you into running the campaign according to the Metaplot. |
