Posted - 09 Jul 2021 : 05:44:19 T'was a warm and damp evening in the Tomb of the Nine Gods, a member of the party had been magically silenced. After being given the description of the feeling of their stunted speech, this party member (rogue) assumed that there must be something blocking their voice from exiting their throat, thusly procuring a small needle from their medicine kit and attempting to give themselves a tracheotomy. I asked for a medicine check, "..if this is what you REALLY want to do." It's a six. While the rogue is digging into his own neck with an unsterile needle, the cleric is going through his spell list to see if he has anything that could be useful (he did). The rogue is now not so confident in his ability to not mess this up, and gestures for the bard to sew him up. At this point the cleric gets a lightbulb over his head, and I'm looking to him to end this before it gets worse. He says NOTHING. Just watches. The bard rolls a medicine check. It's a 1. The Bard punctures an artery and the rogue starts bleeding. A lot. Three players are now scrambling to stop their friend from bleeding with medicine checks. 6... 4... 7... The cleric walks to the rogue slowly and casts cure wounds and the rogue breathes a sigh of relief. Cleric casts greater restoration and says "You should probably Not put rusty metal into your trachea."
