"Hail and well met"! . . . I believe that is the traditional northern greeting, is it not?.
I am D-brane, a wealthly trader of fine items and purveyor of all things magical. My tale begins in the ancient city of Tajar, in the land you northerners call 'Zakhara'. In my homeland, the city of Tajar is known as the place to find many magical and wonderous objects. Among these fantastic items are such treasures including an myriad assortment of magical gem-encrusted scimitars, strange spices with even stranger names, and crimson silken abas. As the saying in the vast marketplaces goes . . . "If it is not available in Tajar, it is not available."
I came here, to this place called Candlekeep in an effort to find some information, information about a land called Faerun. For you see, I once met with a learned traveller and renowned loremaster called The Sage. He directed me to this hall in an attempt to help provide me with the knowledge I need. My time in Tajar has been just one step in my cultural evolution, and now I hunger to know about the world outside Zakhara's borders, so, here I am . . .

[Rondell swivels around on his left heel, his eyes suddenly as large as gold pieces...] "Wh-wha-What did you say? wealthy hey? he he he... Hi! name's Rondell Rivenstone, purveyor all things gnomish, trader of the Chionthar..." [and he babbles on, his eyes drifting momentarily to D-brane's gear, belt pouches and clothes...] |
