A few hours ago, I found some FR work I had done shortly before I joined these boards.
*shudders*
Suffice it to say, it was of the *crunch* variety, not the *fluff* variety, and it wasn't even good crunch...
Anyway, I'm creating this to say thank you to all those here-you should know who you are.
You influenced me to do things well, and to care about lore...
Thank you all.
Also, another point of discussion-I think I'm really in the minority on this.
I had the briefest of exposure to 2e D&D-I've been a 3e player since it came out.
I also seem to be in the minority, as I'm part of the new wave of players-but I'm not one given to loads of crunch, and seem to be more influenced by the old way of doing things then the new. As such, I stand at a unique point-I like supplements with crunch-but also the lore-which is probably the reason Magic of Faerun is one of my favorite supplements so far. Any thoughts?

Indeed, 'tis said that one should never forget their roots (2nd Edition D&D). The minority is not so small as you think, Arivia.

*raises hand* I'm one of them too!
I am the same way, I just barely got into playing. I think it was right after the 3.5 update came out even But I got here from the novels which I absolutely love. And remember novels are 100% fluff no crunch at all. So now with the game material not only do I like fluff with my crunch but I like fluff with my fluff as well hehe.

The minority is larger than you think. Remember, I'm one of them too.

Congrats. Glad it worked out. I enjoy each edition.
