Hi, could someone tell me how and by who the King Azoun IV died?
I need that information for my character in this friday's D&D game. I plan on getting the book...but it's not yet traducted in French( wich i'm more comfortable with) so please don't tell too much details so i still get touched when i read that part. =)

You won't regret the read, and don't forget to read Elminster's Daughter after Death of the dragon. I'm reading it now and it continues the "Cormyr Saga" with some new key characters. |

Yeah, traduction are harder to get here. :( Except when its a single popular author.
My problem is when i read a good part, i get all excited and i just want to read quicker...too much quicker. In french i speak part then come back and chaotically read like that... but in english it takes me 3X more times to read...so i can't do that. ='(
Also, i end up searching for lots of specific word in dictionnary since i'm a little fanatic in my reading.
When i'll be finished with my summer classes, i'll go try to find it in English, since i'll never see it in french. ;-; |

Here in Brazil, we have 6 books translated to portuguese. Chronicles of Dragonlance [3 books], and the Icewind Dale Trilogy .
And there is no prevision for more translated books yet... |

Toff ahah, c du bon joual québécois, = difficile à lire.
Effectivement, se que l'on trouve au canada sur les tablettes en francais sont les versions fleuve noir, mais comme je disais plus haut, on en trouve presque plus! C'est pratiquement mort dans les librairies traditionnelles. Tu vas avoir une vingtaine de livre, et qui seront généralement pas consécutif (un numéro par ci par la), la plupart des numéros sont discontinués et difficile a commander. En anglais, par contre, les nouveautés sont sur nos tablettes a tous les mois généralement (dans les bonnes librairies bien sur) |

Je ne savais pas que les traductions françaises pour le Canada sortaient également de chez Fleuve Noir !

There is 91 novels in french and more than 225 in english. The "golden Age" of Fleuve Noir was in the 90. Now, there is 3 maybe 4 books a year. Only the big canons like Salvatore and they follow the timeline. They did Cormyr with 100 pages removed "absurd" a couple years ago.
Bref, ils vont pas revenir dans le passé terminer la trilogie, se qui est absurde mais c ca. Ils choisisent les plus gros vendeurs et les traduisent (meme si ce ne sont pas les meilleurs histoires!!!) Les traductions sont entrain de disparaître tranquilement des tablettes malheureusement. Tu devrais essayer en anglais, ca vaut la peine, (quoique du Greenwood c toff à lire). |

I'm finishing Death of the Dragon and it is better than expected. Cormyr was awesome, Beyond the high road... avereage, but Death of the Dragon is so good! I Know that I will cry when...

Cormyr was the first FR novel I read and I loved it. Jeff Grubb and Ed make a killer combo I would love for them to do more books together. I was amazed how well the alternating storyline went and how well it depicts Cormyr.
I'm glad to hear the events will be in GHotR. |

Grand History of the Realms, when it's released later this year, will provide tidbits regarding events from the "Cormyr" books as well.

Spoilers (highlight to read):
These seven ancient enemies of Cormyr, called ghazneths, woke up and started trashing the place. At the same time, an ancient red dragon (who was once an elfmaid), lead an army of goblins against Cormyr, following her own vendetta. After most of Cormyr was trashed, Nalavarra (the elf-dragon) and Azoun duked it out personally. Azoun killed the "Devil Dragon" (as she was called), but was mortally wounded in the process.
It's worth reading the novels to get the full details.  |

The problem is that it's a big part of my character's story. I've read about Cormyr on forums and other sites. I know what Vangerdahast did. But, i never found Azoun's death.
So just something as simple as if its of natural cause, cause of an enemy army, orcs or a dragon would help a lot, since none of my friend know much about it. =)
Also... it might take as much as a year before it's traducted and i'm curious. I really like Azoun. |

I think it's best that you just wait for the release of Death of the Dragon in French. It would be difficult for us to share particular details about Azoun IV's demise without revealing a major part of the plot for the novel itself.
