You have heard that some of the information you seek exists in some books that are placed in the cellar, and the monks have told you to seek the strange thief hiding down there fore more information.
You walk down the stairs to Candle keeps cellar, its dark and when you reach the bottom of the stairs you can hear somebody breathing in front of you.
The dark cloaked man hiding in the shadows in front of you says :Welcome to Candle keeps cellar stranger, I hear that you seek knowledge of the portals also know as links. Here are the tome, when you are done with it, put it back on the shelf behind you. You turn around and see the dusty bookshelf and when you turn your head the man in front of you is gone.
This is a updated tread and some of the links are taken from the old thread: (Links related to D&D and forgotten realms. Replies 78 / Read 3120 - Started 16 Oct 2006 )

Yup, that's the one. That's an online version, but is otherwise identical to the little utility on the CD.
Looking at the file dates on the CD, I'd say it came out in 2001, maybe 2002. It's got a couple Dungeon adventures on there, both from May/June 2001. It's also got a pdf of the first issue of Dungeon. There are also pdf diagrams of the Millenium Falcon, an X-Wing, a Y-Wing, and a TIE Fighter. There's an article on how to build a monster. It's got the PC Portraits from Dragon issues 270-8 and Sage Advice from issues 274-280.
So it was likely included with Dragon somewhere in the 270-280 range. I can't narrow it down much further. |

Oh, now that is a cool site! Some of those maps are really quite nifty...
I'm not the mapping fiend you are, but I do like pretty maps. I've still got a bunch to put up on eBay, but I've made a point of keeping several of the duplicate maps I've managed to acquire -- like the ones for Waterdeep and Undermountain.
Oh, and I still, every now and again, fire up the Dungeon Generator that came with the CD insert with that long-ago issue of Dragon. |
