I think we can now safely say that Wizards Webstaff is blatently discriminating against the Realms in favour of Eberron

So far for 2007 there have been SEVEN articles published for Eberron on the WOTC site

How many FR articles have been published this year? ONE and that was published back on the third.

We know that there no delay from Eds in because hes told us on several occassions that Wizards have at least 12 months worth of realms articles already and yet its mysteroiusly not getting to the site..

After my last rant led to a thorough, shall we say, "attitude adjustment" by a very kindly Sage, I shall refrain from any comment... except one... Is there no other Realms designer/author/editor that has lore to share? There are many great FR contributors... Thank Heavens for Candlekeep, the sages here keep me going on Realms-lore, otherwise I would have to focus on work and attaining my grad degree... "shudder"

Feb and Beyond has revea;ed that Eyatan doing FR articles on how the classess fit into the FR, they should be coming out this month

you know I would have hoped that the web team would have used the various WE from DoF and MoM to fill in the FR article shortage where currently suffering on the WOTC site

I'd really love to participate in one of your campaigns, my Lady. I have a feeling I would thoroughly enjoy it!

Sorry, I have to laugh at this, given the title of the thread.

Heh, guess you guys don't want to hear that I can easily get 8 to 11 hours of sleep every night. And I'm in my thirties! Only night I don't is on gaming nights and then I only get about 3 or 4.

One of the con's of not having a significant other.
Purple Dragon Knight Posted - 01 Feb 2007 : 23:45:22
Went to a sleep clinic once, and it turns out that I almost never get to the 4th-level of sleep (sleep has 4 cycles; 1-3 being light sleep, and level 4 being the deepest sleep, the one that provides the most rest and all associated health benefits, up and including your body's ability to regulate its weight... yes, I've got a bit of a belly, and the snoring prevents me to get to the 4th-level of sleep, which makes me gain weight, which then intensifies my snoring, etc. It's a real vicious circle, one that can only be beat with lots and lots of exercise, which requires time, a hard commodity for everyone these days. Which is funny, since technology has given us loads of disposable time - compared to the typical 18th century farmer who was working dawn to dusk - and that very technology, this tool we've created to increase our comfort, is now demanding our time back, like an angry wife that overwhelms you with chores, who was once a lovely girlfriend that baked you cookies, volunteered to fold your laundry IN BETWEEN hot steamy romps, etc... )

Sorry, WalkerNinja, but as I said earlier: Ed simply hasn't had the time, whilst juggling three novels, two game products, and a big NDA at once (and holding down a real-life job that has nothing to do with gaming, don't forget), to write more articles. He's very sorry about that, but he just CAN'T invent more time for his day. As it is, he's down to about three hours sleep a night, cramming as much extra writing time into his life as he can. It's quite likely that his lore replies here at the Keep will become more sporadic, too, in the month ahead. Sigh.
On the bright side, I see 2007 hosting the publication of THREE new Ed Greenwood novels. Only one is a Realms book, but, hey, it's SWORDS OF DRAGONFIRE.
love,
THO

Damn, I am beat after only 6 hours of sleep... 3 hours a night...damn

Well, I don't know how old you are Mace, but Modern Sleep institutes have shown that the need for sleep maxes in our teens decreases as we continue to age. My father-in-law goes to bed at 11 and wakes up at 3 or so routinely, and he's not nearly as busy as Ed.

I've got a thought... perhaps its wishful thinking but one month into the new year, I'd like to remain a little optimistic:

They're fixing to through a "Super" adventure to us in March that is supposed to have a good deal of info on Cormyr. What if they're holding things back to flood us with Cormyr enhancements come March? We know that they've been working on this module for a while now, and that much of Cormyr has been NDA'd since RotA. Perhaps Ed and others have been writing material in anticipation of that and it can't be released until the module hits the stands?

Too early to tell, I would think?
Ergdusch Posted - 31 Jan 2007 : 07:39:14
still no new FR article on the boards of Wotc? And that since 3. of January! You know what I think: I think they are preparing some one of a kind, mega-super-duper valintine's gift special for all FR-fans out there.............[;p]

By all accounts (fans, company, and apparent sales alike), Eberron doesn't need the help either. The real money maker for D&D is D&D itself. All the settings are just 'extra.' They're nice to have, just like free web articles.

Good! I can call off those fire mephits now...

They were certainly ready to pounce.

Very ashamed and rather embarrased... I just read the reply from THO, lovely Lady Sage that she is... I thought I had read all of this post a while ago, and when I got home from class last night, needing a Realms-fix, and there was STILL no new articles, the heat (berserker rage) fused a couple of wires together in what passes for my brain, and... I really should have made sure that I read ALL of page 1... It is all Dargoth's fault, really... never mind. I humbly submit myself for correction, most merciful Sage!
just kidding Dargoth, seriously, please don't help the Sage... His punishment is enough!
Kiaransalyn Posted - 25 Jan 2007 : 13:30:56
I'm not anti-Eberron. I just can't afford it.

As regards, Forgotten Realms material appearing on WotC's site. I'm happy to settle for quality over quantity and I'm sure temporary lulls in productivity aren't the beginnings of a WotC plot to give up on the Realms.

ShadowJack Posted - 25 Jan 2007 : 13:09:43
O.K. Sages/Moderators, prepare to whack me with your Staves of Miscreant Correcting +2...
I do not care two figs for Eberron, write all the articles and great sourcebooks for it you want, I do not care! I am not interested, I love the Realms, I have since it was first introduced. Now, I am keeping things in perspective, and in the scheme of things it is not really critical to life that WoTC have not posted a new FR "Anything" since January 3rd... They keep churning out EB stuff and the Realms is (it seems)truly forgotten by WoTC. We all know that there is plenty of good material for FR waiting for publishing, where is it? I understand that the website is a free service they provide for us, but I guarantee that they have made money off of me because of the info on the FR website. Very frustrating! Do they REALLY expect me to work on my Graduate school work? I need more FR articles, web enhancements and Realms sourcebooks to keep me blissfully procrastinating on my grad program... Enough said, I accept my correction, smack away, ye merciful sages...

Ergdusch Posted - 20 Jan 2007 : 12:54:42
I don't actually! Because my players are not very familiar with the realms my goal is to give them a little bit óf the FR-feeling and also hammer some tidbits of lore into their brains. Therefore I try to stick to the basics as much as I can and don't confuse my players with things from different settings (even though they would not notice it, most likely). The plot-hooksv however, I use them as inspiration but have not used any hooks in my games at all.
