Is there an NPC lile this anywhere in the realms that is currently part of the lore? Sort of an unstoppable juggernaut of a warrior. For those that haven't heard of him, he is a character from the series A Song of Fire and Ice. (links below)

I would think due to his freakish size, considering someone like Gregor large to allow for the War Hulk prestige class would be perfect. The War Hulk is a very limited, but also geared to being a straight ahead powerhouse. I think 5 levels of fighter and 10 lvls as a War Hulk would be perfect for an NPC acting as muscle for a tyrant.

OK, that explains a lot. I'm still having trouble thinking of a Realms equivalent, though (that giant-blooded fellow in Waterdeep isn't evil).

Me too. Forgot to mention that. And he's definitely not evil, he's both a paladin and Piergeiron's champion.

Explain the character a bit more (as a person, not as a huge armored menace) and we could probably help you out more.

Essentially he's a bully - he's exceptionally large, vicious and foul-tempered. You wouldn't want to cross him. He's evil to the core - if you want a troublesome bandit group dealt with, or want to make an example of some peasants, he's your man, especially if you're happy to turn a blind eye to the raping and pillaging. He's loyal to the family he serves, but only because he knows who pays his upkeep and that were he to try and change allegiance, he would be brought down swiftly. He is basically a pawn (albeit a rather powerful and effective one), very useful, but he is ultimately expendable. To sum up, probably not the sort of guy you'd take home to meet your mum.

Little bit surprised to see people speaking of the Mountain here

Well, the most likely character would be a kind of insane loyal evil half giant fighter (or maybe blackguard).
I remember there is a trilogy which is set in a kingdom of Giant blooded people , you could probably find what u're looking for in it.

I do not know about City of Splendors, but FR1 "Waterdeep and the North" and the 2nd-Edition boxed set "City of Splendors" have Madeiron, Piergeiron's champion, a 9th-level paladin in FR1, 12th-level paladin in the boxed set, 8 feet tall, likes to use a 12-foot iron bar for "crowd control". Aside from the two-handed sword, the picture might well be a good rendition of this fellow.

I can't seriously think of any such character...and for that matter, unstoppable juggernauts don't really appeal to me.

Explain the character a bit more (as a person, not as a huge armored menace) and we could probably help you out more.

...ummm.... Drizzt Do'Urden?

:::Sarcasm:::

no idea really. There's a few stalwarts, Gareth Dragonsbane or Piergon, but none that really strike me as juggernautish...
