This might sound a little out there but my DM and I have created a very interesting concept for Narfell and I wanted to see what channels one would go through to submit the idea to WoTC or to Ed. Its a very detailed write up of an undead nation that spawned in the wasted and ruined domain of Narfell. Does anyone have any contact info? |

I know this would be a monumental undertaking, But It's still a nice idea!
If WotC did it on a credit given but royalty free basis and over the course of the year reviewed the submited work, To use or use ideas from it would not be such a drain on WotC time and money banks!
As I said just an idea....

Delzounblood, I seriously doubt there'll ever be an open email call for idea submission regarding a FR product, or any other product for that matter.
Just do the math: even if only 2000 suggestions are sent by email, it will take a few days worth of manpower to sift through the submissions. Then a team has to decide which suggestions are good enough to become part of a module. After that the team has to find a designer.
Assuming a team of 4 people will decide over such a projet for one week, 12 hrs a day, that is 240 manhours, in addition to the cost it will take to pay the designer to get the thing of the ground, artist-salary, editor salary, and on top of all of that the royalties to the person who submitted the idea to avoid any legal confrontations in the aftermath.
We'd probably get a supplement that has some good ideas but would loose money for WotC since the retail price would, for a 14 page supplement, be as high as the FRCS... |

It suren is heart warming to heat that The Godfarthers of The Forgotten Realms keep an ear open to the masses when game ideas are tossed around on the boards. I for one applaude WotC and the multitude of writers / designers in their open attitude to the the publics questions and ideas.
I myself, aswell as probably nearly every gamer out there has "wished" at one time or another to become one of the minds behind the realms, so it is good to hear our ideas are heard and even borrowed by the powers that be.

Though maybe a yearly open email for idea submissions could be thought of?

Well, Paizo is actually your best bet here -- submitting it for possible inclusion in DRAGON as Kuje and Mace noted above.
Also, I would ask whether you intend to place any stats or rules information in said article. If you intend to follow the Paizo path, having stats and rules in your article will garner it more attention, since Paizo have an active focus on lore-rules combined articles for DRAGON.
'Tis one of the main reasons why I'm holding back on submitting my own works -- rules and stats aren't exactly my "thing", however, I've had no problem with the lore-aspect of a potential article.

No contact info for either, sorry (besides the generic WotC email from the website). Honestly, if you want your idea to be explored further, you really should submit it to Dragon magazine. I'm almost positive that WotC is not accepting unsolicited manuscripts or ideas - for FR books, they usually solicit authors who have previously worked on FR products or have proven themselves by consistently submitting quality material to Dragon. |

I doubt that, from what it sounds like from what you said, that an author/game designer would take your info and do something with it.
As Mace said, you're better off submitting it to Paizo and seeing what happens from there...... |

Im not looking to submit anything as a writer but merely an idea that could be very good and really built upon. Besides, I dont see an article in Dragon Mag being nearly enough write up to do it justice. |

Truth to be told... um...no,
maybe what you should do is write an article for Dragon and submit it there, this might get WOTC's attention and you the break you need to submit the Narfell stuff...
