Posted - 03 Oct 2006 : 17:01:17 I'm getting requests for statting some NPC's @WotC boards but I have some problems, so I hope sages of Candlekeep would provides some answers , NPC's:
1)Tulrun of the Tent - he's made a tiefling in Silver Marches !? I remember from somewhere that he was an Uthgardt weretiger(barbarian?) of the Red Tiger tribe. So which one should I use ?
2)Radoc - does anyone know any recent news about him ?
3)Ualair the Silent - he's statted in 2E as Wiz 29/HM should he have more levels due to changed rules (in 2E there was lvl. maximum for elves)
SPOILER Evermeet
4)Ka'narlist from Evermeet novel - last words about him: ''There was the possibility that Ka'Narlist had managed to capture his own essence in one of his dark pearls. Lloth did not like the idea that the final fate of the malevolent, ambitious entity was not altogether certain.'' - that's the last word about him and that was shortly after the descent of dark elves. The fact that Lolth doesn't know where he is probably means that his spirit is in one of those pearls at the bottom of the sea (but you never know adventurers might encounter, I was thinking of statting him still trapped inside). So question is could he still be around (Elaine's thread is closed I've noticed) ? |

Posted - 07 Oct 2006 : 08:56:02 Radoc was a 23Wiz/20Cleric in 2ed so I would put it as a 8Wiz/10Clr/MyTh10/Acm5. It is a shame that there is no recent litterature on him as I always thought that he would make a good novel character. |

Posted - 06 Oct 2006 : 12:43:55 Olin Gisir is a rather informal and loose organization so ... might not be that big a problem |

Posted - 06 Oct 2006 : 11:29:38 I was thinking that he was an Olin Gisir in the past, and later he even surpassed that when he became a High Mage thus becoming something like Olin Gisir ''hierophant'' ...
Also he's a moon elf in Cormanthyr but in the Fall of Myth Drannor he's a sun elf ? (I'm still waiting for Blackstaff to be shipped, wrath ...) |

Posted - 05 Oct 2006 : 21:32:15 Malruluthu you idea of making Ualair a Olin Gisir is extremely interesting. For your own purpose I would say go for it. For his true Spell-casting class nature you might even be dead on and he is an Olin Gisir. However, I think that Ualair might be hesitant to fully join such an organization. His position in Myth Drannor's Court and his extremely wise nature leads me to believe that he would be much more an admirer of the Olin Gisir, just like how he gave the Eternal Srinalla the nod, and yet he is not a member. So it fits for him to be a Olin Gisir class wise but story lore wise it would tie him down to an orginization that he would disengage all connections to if it (the orginization) were to be overly rash in policy. So my basic point is that no matter how hard we all try the Loremasters that wrote up Ualair the Silent made him a mystery and so stating him out will be a exercise in imagination and creativity. Have fun. :) Just don't let any demons beat him him ;) |

On Ualair, I am setting my elven mage up for High Mage consideration and per my research Ualair would most likely be Wizard 20/Epic Wizard 4/ High Mage 5. Based on Elven magical culture Ualair is going to have the gem magic feat or craft gem skill. He will need Skill Focus Spellcraft and Knowledge Arcana plus Epic Skill Focus Spellcraft and Knowledge Arcana. You might want to give him Silent Spell and Auto Silent Spell as well. Ualair is also going to have a high Intelligence and Wisdom. His other stats haven't had any serious influence on his description in any of the books I've read of him in so have fun with them but he probably isn't a muscle man or a dwarf like Constitution fiend. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the suggestion, also I was thinking about Olin Gisir considering they're silent most of the time so Ualair seems perfect. |

Radoc is "Doc" from those old 1E modules (I'll find their names later)
he was an alien archmage who befriended the mongrelmen in the High Forest and led an assult on Hellgate Keep before it fell...and later retreated back into the planes

1) I won't swear to it, but I believe that Blackstaff had Tulrun in it, and that he's no longer a tiefling. Check out either the novel or one of the threads pertaining to it; it was at the end of the book.
2) I'm not familiar with that one...
3) I don't know if he's been re-statted.
4) Elaine's thread is closed because she is limiting her online time for various reasons. She does, however, make a point of not stepping on toes by speculating too much on what isn't explicitly stated. So, if the fate of his pearl is not stated, Elaine would likely say that it's whatever you want it to be. It does offer some nice possibilities to DMs, no?
1)I'm still waiting for book to be shipped and I've searched the threads - nothing about him. So he's in original form ?
2)@Kuje, thanks, so he left ...
3)No, he wasn't restatted, but this was more a general question concerning that elves from 2E had to do much more than humans to reach Wiz 29, it's just a matter of opinion. I know that he was in contingent temporal stasis (found this on the boards) so I assume that he's stats hasn't changed since 712 DR. So Wooly does he have a major part in the novel (I'm spoiled that much to know that he and Khelben were primary casters in High Magic ritual) ?
4)Yes, very interesting possibilities ... |
