You know, living down here near New Orleans.... that would make for a damn interesting article. For instance, since you mention Thay, Bezantur recently was hit by a tidal wave. My first thought when I heard about it was that Thay would have had contingent walls of force, walls of ice (these on the outskirts), and wall of stone spells to create temporary breakwaters should a wave above a certain height start towards this major city (not necessarily other coastal cities, but this one I figured would have such magical protection). Similarly, I wonder about Evermeet and hurricanes. Since Faerun turns in the same direction as earth, most of the Sword Coast wouldn't have to worry about such much, but Evermeet and the Moonshaes would be ripe for Hurricanes to plow into. Then there's the issue of things like droughts that could stand to devastate crops and cattle. What about forest fires in Aglarond or the Great Dale or the High Forest? Sinkholes created by underdark miners? |

Posted - 01 Oct 2006 : 16:30:42 I'd really like to see sections on pronunciation of things in the realms. Cyric for example is pronounced so differently between people. I'd like to hear about possible contingencies of countries. Much like America has plans for what to do in even the most obscure situation I think countries like thay have those contingencies and I'd like to hear some of those from even smaller places or cities. In general I like small things that are available from ed's replies here and other sources... small things that i dont feel like searching for.
