I just finished skimming through Shining South (2e) and noticed that there was a group in Halruaa that had ties to psionics. The group was called the Destroyers, one of the few adventuring companies native to Halruaa, which was lead by a Daltim Flamefist, and was noted as having a group of 30 wizards and psionicists as members.

I'm just wondering what might be up with this organization today. It is an established group that included psionic characters, so it might serve as a good base for Halruaans that want to be psions. The group is only noted as being "strictly lawful."

Does anyone know if there was anything else mentioned about this group?

thats true..I wasn't thinking along those lines...

as a side note...I imagine a 3E Destroyers have alot of sonic magics now too...handy and safer than fire, lighting or acid in a seige

No Problem I hope I didn't make too many mistakes...

I find Gold and Glory is like the Horde Campaign, Swords of the Iro Legion and Pirates of the Fallen Stars...they were all good books with some canon...just forgetable

Thanks for that Kalin . . . for some reason when I reference things I always forget things like Gold and Glory . . .

This is what comes to mind:

I think Daltim is detailed in the 2E Pages from the Mages (I often get Daltim and Darsson mixed up) and the Destroyers were detailed briefly in Gold and Glory (and possibly in Spelljammer).

I remember the Destroyers were a "speciality" mercenary group (not adventuring group) of mainly Halruaan mages...their speciality being blowing up things with magic...thus they were used primarily in stronghold seiges and sometimes in large-scale battlefields (I imagine possibly on naval and spelljammer ships too)

I'm sure (in a 2E psionics point of view) that psions were used in the Destroyers, the psychokenetic discipline had alot of handy "seige" abilities...especially the science of detonate and (the overpowered) psionic disintegrate (*cringe at psionic disintegrate* )

basically IMO in 3E any class/PrC that can blow up things would be welcomed in the Destroyers..and the strictly lawful part is for self control (so you won't blow yourself or other up, IMO again )
