Posted - 18 Sep 2006 : 11:21:36 Hi, This started at 4:30 am Just after my son pee'd, puked and crapped on me....
He was born on 06/06/06 ........ I laughed at my "devil child" which started a whole thought process.... which follows:
Number of the beast 666 Occult numbers 13 ... 31 ..... 33...... Then I started thinking of the Illuminati.....
How about a group of evil ant-religous gnomes? based loosely on the myth of the Illuminati being ant-church and pro science.
working behind a government or something to bring down the pantheon!
what do you think?

lolal
ping there goes another rib I'm splitting my sides laughing.......
I am thinking to use this as a hook in my current campaign, Evil Gnome Overlords of somewhere hell bent on running the gods out of town so that science came prevail.... and then get crushed under the collective pantheons boots |

But I think a cult run by gnomes would only be gnominally important.
Although I do remember a character from the old Castle Greyhawk module... the infamous Indiana Gnome.
Maybe the members of this cult are all agnomestic... |

I thought the Illuminati is that world spanning organization spun off from the Knights Templar who control just about every coorporation and government in the world?

Posted - 18 Sep 2006 : 14:13:56 Also, and I just looked it up to confirm it, the Enlightened philosophies, if I understand it correctly, mainly questioned and attacked church and state. As such they didn't deny god in any way, some might have gone away from their basic beliefs but all in all it was more against the institution church, which had caused enough religious unrest within Europe, than religion and god in itself... |

Posted - 18 Sep 2006 : 13:12:44 Just a wild thought process at 4:30 in the morning, I read to much Dan Brown and FR books, They tend to mix up in that stage between sleep and awake especially when I drink red wine!
But as strange idea's go with tweeks it could be fun, they wouldn't be the only ant-deity people out there! |

Anti maybe? =)
The Illuminati, the way I understand them, were more like free-minded, liberal etc, same as the masons. Besides, in a world where the gods are present it is kind of difficult to argue against it, since it isn't blind faith.
Even if they could "prove" a god didn't exist, that same god would probably send an avatar to the speaker's side and give him some real proof!
Controlling organizations are there in abundance, Iron Throne, Harpers etc. But I cannot imagine a group that blindfolds itself against the hard facts of life (the gods do exist) and proclaim otherwise, even if they did, who would believe them? Why would a trader sponsor them if his donations and sacrifices to Waukeen prove effective? |
