I just received my new Dragon in the mail today. While leafing through the first watch section I found a blurb about Ed's new world. Its called Castlemourn. The sorce book avaliable talks about being in a world that has rebeled against its occupants. Some old and powerful magic has been lost. It sounds interesting. Has anyone else heard about it?

Indeed.

Tom, Alisttair... if you take a look through Ed's compiled replies, as Kuje noted above, you'll learn a little more about how CASTLEMOURN does and does not relate to the Realms.

As well, the Player's Guide I linked to above will help you to learn more about the separate new world of Ed's.

Is this one where he wrote novels on or a completely new world?

Is it part of the FR or totally different?

I went to the local gameshop a bit ago (Game Haven, shameless plug) to see if Nate might be able to get me a copy. Now I just have to wait with baited breath(do you know how hard it is to bait your breath?).

We simply don't have enough core information on the land of Castlemourn to be completely certain at this point. It's likely Ed's included a number of new critters in the complete campaign setting book, but the Player's Guide itself doesn't provide us with many details like this... there's a few mentions though, as I recall.

Do you know if there are new monsters involed? Always looking for more. I will never use half of the ones I have now, but it might be real interesting to delve into Ed's mind for more monsters. Of course this won't make my players any more happier...

And the Player's Guide only made waiting for the final release of Castlemourn all the more exciting.

Faraer originally posted the URL. You can find that particular scroll here:- http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7620

Yup,

We've been waiting for the material for 2 years now. The short player's guide was available at Gencon and then it could be found online. The link was posted on Keep a week or so ago. :)

Also, Ed's discussed it a few times and his replies are in the files in my sig. :)
