I have some questions here about Tempus, the Red Knight, Garagos, and the rest of them:

1) Aside from Faiths & Pantheons, are there any fiction or game books that go into much detail about Tempus and his faith? I get the idea that he's a major deity in the Realms, but very little seems to have been said about him. Where are his major temples (aside from Battledale)? Are there any especially sacred sites in his faith?

More importantly, just how do his priests handle their "keeping war a thing of rules and guidelines" as described in F&P? I get the idea that a small contingent of Foehammer's priests accompany any (human) army on campaign, working as emissaries between hostile parties, and trying to contain but not stop the violence. -- "Very well, both hosts are agreed. You shall choose a score of your heartiest warriors, as shall they. Both sides shall meet in the field between the armies, where they shall battle to settle the issue. There shall be no despoiling of fields or farms, and no slaughter of civilians. And may Tempus lend strength to your arms!"

2) The Red Knight -- first of all, let me say that I really enjoy what was said about her paladins in Champions of Valor. They sound like naturals for the 'Legendary Leader' PrC in Heroes Of Battle. But that said, again, has anything been said as to a center of her worship or how she and her church relate to Tempus'? Seeing as how any of them train to be tactical and strategic experts, you'd think they'd be more popular in the Realms.

Thanks for any information.

I could be mixing things up here, but I seem to recall that there was a big battle under the command of a priest of Tempus in the Counselors and Kings trilogy (Book 3 I think). Someone (perhaps Elaine) can correct me if this is the wrong book or god.

www.nobleknight.com just comes off my head, and me and Kuje bought some (I bought some, he just told me to finally do it) at GenCon this year and I'll say they paint nice picture of all the deities that you know about, Dead or Alive as of TSR 2E period.

Sorry this took so long, but a big thank you to both Wooly and Chosen of Moradin for the information they passed along. I'll try hunting those books down.

Those two books are part of the 2E trilogy of deity books (the other was Demihuman Deities). Those books are orders of magnitude better than Faiths & Pantheons, and required resources for anyone who wants to know about the deities of the Realms.

And I say "amen" to this! The 2dn edition trilogy of deity books are one of my best resources of "divine adventure ideas".
