Hey folks. Following are some unrelated questions, grouped together to save forum space. I apologize in advance if any of the questions are obvious or totally stupid...I'm one of those people...the ones who got into the Forgotten Realms by playing CRPGs, and while I have read a dozen or so FR novels and flipped through a number of FR sourcebooks, and have a great interest in gaming systems in general, I am not strictly interested in role-playing. My FR lore amounts to a few simple facts and a load of unsupported opinions, so, wanting more definite answers, I came here.

1. Okay, first, a wielder of Silver Fire can restore a dead magic zone to normal using the 70'-cone, non-damaging, greater-dispelling option...in terms of game mechanics, does this have to be used from outside the dead magic zone, directing the cone toward it, or does it have the property of being useable in a dead magic zone? What about Spellfire?

2. Is there a region or culture in the realms in which "da" or "di" might appear as part of a surname (such as in Italian names like da Vinci)? If there is none, which would be most likely in your opinion?

3. Does there exist an artifact with the name "Fate of Faerun"? Also, I understand that bullets that hit their target are generally considered destroyed, so what property would one use to describe a bullet that could be recovered and reused after a successful hit? "Indestructible" is obviously cheesy...what about one being blessed to preserve it in some way? Are there any artifact bullets I should look at? (thinking along the lines of David and Goliath, with someone thinking to actually recover the bullet for a gold-making opportunity)

Thanks much!

Are you sure you don't mean "mite?"

Going from memory... we've got Nadul DaRoni, a gnomish inventor -- from Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue.

And he was statted out on the Wizards site, too: Realms Personalities: Nadul DaRoni

Not a culture as such, but...

Firstly, I would steer clear of real-world naming structures: the Realms is the Realms, not an Earth analogue. Hence the use of "di" or "da" as part of a Realms surname just doesn't "fit". I see no reason why you have to use a "di" or "da" surname in any event other than personal preference. If you want to, go ahead - just know that it's not a particularly "Realmsian" term.

There is no artifact known as the "Fate of Faerūn".

As for your slingstone, if it is an artifact it doesn't have to match the rules for general magic items such as the fact that missiles lose their dweomer after use. It can just stay magical.
