Well since Paul Kemp clarified that Lolth was elevated to a GP (greater power... which really irks me since I diskike Lolth) in WoTSQ. I was wondering if it was possible that it was preparation for some sort of final showdown between her and Corellon. Yes I know this is far fetched... but I just see others' opinions.
Mod edit: I think this one would work better in the General Chat section. |

Posted - 05 May 2006 : 02:27:14 Perhaps, but Lord Ao cannot deny the whims of fate and time and if it must happen, I am sure Lord Ao must acquiese to it. Like if the ToT must happen, even Lord Ao had to acquiese to it though Ao knows the consequences of doing it. I think Ao did not dictate that the gods cannot fight each other physically or what, i think it is simply that the gods had a close brush with death and oblivion that they simply do not want to face it again and that they had to care for their followers hence we see their followers doing the fighting for their divine masters. But I reckon that Ao cannot stop his subordinate gods from fighting each other physically if it were to happen as I reckon it is below him to do that and doing so would require his attention almost constantly and he won't do it as he can't stop good and evil from fighting each other. He would merely ensure that new gods rise to replace the dead ones or if the situation calls for it, stop the fight for a while. Still, Ao cannot deny and stop the gods from fighting each other physically if time and fate wills it, for Ao for all his vaunted power cannot deny the whims of Fate and Time. |

Posted - 05 May 2006 : 02:03:40 I don't picture any divine wars anytime soon. It seems since the Time of Troubles that Ao expects the gods to war against one another through their servants, not directly. I picture Lolth and Corellon not having a serious throw down until some kind of Ragnarok occurs, or at least a few thousand years from now when another ToT happens. |

Posted - 05 May 2006 : 01:59:51 A divine epic war between Correllon and Lolth, hmm.....it can happen if the fates and time wills it to happen. From my perspective, Lolth can be an opponent to be reckoned with and not to be underestimated so easily. I am sure she can gather together very powerful allies from other worlds that the Seldarine had not seen or battled before, if she can recruit the aid of Iyak-Horteel through malar aid, I am very certain she can recruit the bane of the gods, the Night Serpent over to her banner and we all know how hard it can be to fight the Night Serpent. Lolth's ascension to greater power status is simply the first step in the beginning of something larger and inevitable event, probably Lolth's long term plans. One day, I am very certain correllon and Lolth will and must face each other again and since lolth was once created by Correllon to be his consort, I believe lolth is some part a bit of Correllon. Hence, even if Correllon and Lolth kills each other, the balance would be maintained in some way by allowing new deities to ascend the positions. For the elves, a new deity that is more proactive with the elves is needed while for the dark elves, a evil deity that can whip the dark elves into orderly ranks is needed as well. |

Posted - 04 May 2006 : 23:26:09 Well many of us do not agree with the opinion of game effects that Lolth gained a few Divine ranks. AFAIK no Divine rank has been officially posted, Lolth might only be DR 16 and 4 ranks below Corellon so a one on one contest the winner would tend to be Corellon. Further, The combined and strong allied good forces have a compined total in numbers and and likely powers would have an advantage over any colilation of the Evil deities that while dedicated to a common cause would also have to watch their own backs from their allies.
Oh of course there can be a great war, however for the same reason Lolth was not killed, nor can Corellon be killed. There needs to be deities that repersent both good and evi. At best if a conflict occured it would not result in any over all change to the deities. |
