Posted - 28 Apr 2006 : 21:45:30 Any source books you guys can reccomend for famous pirates/pirate hunters. Also any information on what kinds of things can happen out on the open waters. (Sea of Swords)
I heard mention of Ghost ships that prey on other ships but are there any detailed books that help explain this? What other things can a pirate run into?
Thank ye kind scribes. |

Posted - 30 Apr 2006 : 07:09:56 This actually sounds like it has some potential. And since Eric's involved again... well, it's almost a definite purchase for me.
In which issue of DUNGEON does the arc start?

Posted - 30 Apr 2006 : 06:05:01 Just to let you know, the next 12 adventure story arc that Dungeon is going to publish is called the Savage Tide, and its going to feature a lot of sailing to distant islands, dealing with pirates and the like, on top of the overall plot that involves a villain that hasn't been seen in the Realms since Baldur's Gate II.
The Adventure Path is a generic campaign, but just as with the Age of Worms adventure path, the very talented and Realms lore oriented Eric Boyd will be writing conversion notes for the adventures in the path, and is himself writing one of the installments this time around.
In case anyone is interested. |

Ed's also covered the subject of pirates and piracy in the Realms. I'd download the compiled replies files from Kuje's website and run a search for both.

Posted - 28 Apr 2006 : 22:34:55 I planned to make up some cool new things.. I just didn't want to have anything that contradict the source books.
Incase 1) I decided to use the source books later and 2) my players are very picky.. we actually joke about times when the source books have been butchered in past games ect.. |

Posted - 28 Apr 2006 : 22:24:04 The new sourcebook coming out for the MOONSEA region might have some worthwhile stuff. Although I must admit that even though I am not as well versed in FR Lore as many people here are I am at a loss for any other materials. Maybe you can have some fun and make up some stuff of your own. That is the best thing about Forgotten Realms. It is a versatile world that has everything for everyone. |

Posted - 28 Apr 2006 : 22:14:32 Does Luskan not sit on the Open Sea? |

Posted - 28 Apr 2006 : 21:51:28 Not the open seas as much as the Sea of Fallen stars. What little there is on the open seas is usually in the regional books (although I think Zakhara had a book on corsairs). |
