I'm guessing that this is the best place to ask about this.

I often act as a step-n-fetch for information for my DM. Recently, he mentioned to me some sort of communication device that has to do with Cormyr, at the least, probably for the War Wizards/Purple Dragons

It's not in Magic of Faerun.
It's not in Volo's Guide to Cormyr.
It's not in Four From Cormyr.

Does this thing ring a bell to anyone? I don't need it's stats or anything, just a reference for it ... and I can do the rest. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

And there was me thinking you were going to say Inhuman Rampage. Or is that just Khelben on a bad day?

Dragon 334, p. 71 (earring of the wolf) Turned out not to be a FR specific item. The confused came from the title of the article ... "Arsenal of the War Mages."

Certainly plenty of Cormyr friendly magic items, though.

Ah, but I can't think of any Dragonforce particularly appropriate for this thread...

Bah any good waitress would be humming some Dragonforce ;)

Back on topic, this isn't specic to cormyr or even FR but might help out (from Psionic items section)

quote:
Linked: This kind of armor or shield allows the wearer to form a telepathic bond with other wearers of linked armor or shields within 10 miles. This ability is otherwise similar to the mindlink power.
Moderate telepathy; ML 6th; Craft Psionic Arms and Armor, mindlink; Price +6,000 gp.

Some Magic Items are exceptions to the limits per location.

Off-hand no clue on what you are looking for.
I do know there are a few items that can do this on a limited basis.

Messenger Medallion from Underdark allows one to use Sending once per day.

I seem to remember this as well but I can not find the referance now. I think is was some sort of War Wizard or Purple Dragon ring or broach but it is not any of the ones listed in Magic of Faerun. I remember the Royal family haveing rings like this in the Tuigan invasion books, but they only worked for a short time each day.

Green Knight

p.s. I assume you mean communicator such as in Star trek and not a translator. correct?

I'll just stick with my Babelfish, thank you.
Kentinal Posted - 06 Feb 2006 : 21:34:18
Well search under that only provided a fan based reply.

There clearly can be rings or other devices of comunication. Telepathy might be a search word to use. I can not find any canon on search words provided so far.

If that's the case ... then maybe it's in that Dragon Annual.
Kentinal Posted - 06 Feb 2006 : 21:03:42
Hey you wanted a communication device, you did not say it had to be a "good" one. *wink*

That was the closet I could find on a narrow search. There are many comunication devives I would expect in FR, many of which I do not know of.

Isn't that an evil shard of crystal bent on world conquest?
Kentinal Posted - 06 Feb 2006 : 20:40:30
Perhaps, Crenshinibon the Crystal Shard
