Yeah, these terrain books have been on my mind. So this one comes next to my way of thinking. Again . . . not much interest in the modified "core" species, but some ideas on where to put the other species in the book.

The aventi I wouldn't want to use in the seas inland of Faerun, but I can picture a land that sunk a long time ago in the ocean between Faerun and Maztica. I toyed with the idea about a land sunk when the elves cast their massive High Magic to create Evermeet, but I don't think any human civilizations were advanced enough to have had a significant nation when this occured.

The darfellan are problematic for me on this issue. Sea elves and sahuagin have always been diametrically opposed in Realmslore, and the darfellan considering the sahuagin thier main nemesis kind of muddles that classic sea elf/sahuagin mysterious hate/hate relationship.

Hadozee are easy for me, since in my campaign they would just be members of a spelljamming races that decided to stay Toril bound and start working as sailors for hire.

Greetings

In my humble opinion a non level adjusted races can always find a home somewhere in the realms. I have never had a problem accommodating +0 to + 2 level adjusted races into a game. Personally I think that level adjustments of +0 or +1 are for the most part a matter of style there impact on the actual game mechanics is minimal but they can add a great deal to a story.

Do not care for the Darfellan at all.

On Aventi, could always be a lost human civilization that had their own disaster...

Hadozee, yep, easy because of Spelljammer.
