I found the link to RPG radio on the DragonLance site, and hey, I like to listen to internet radio while I'm online, so I listened to it. The first one was well produced, but little d20 or D&D information on it.

The second one had a feature on the new Thieves World game from Green Ronin, and that was cool. I like Thieves World and I like Green Ronin, so that was good. But when they start to do their "table talk" section, the general "cool cutting edge" things start to creep in. You know, they mindset that if you don't play in new settings every six months and you aren't playing in the latest obscure companies d20 setting then your game is stangnant. Then it happened . . . while complaining about WOTC not supporting d20 Modern and sticking with D&D for most of their supplements (gee, thats what makes money, wonder why they would want to do that), one of them chimes in with "If I want the same old RP experience, I'd still be playing Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk."

There are so many different places in Forgotten Realms, and different playing styles, the only way it can get stagnant is if the DM and the PCs aren't that attatched to it. If its not your thing, great, but that isn't a flaw in the setting, its a personal preference.

And if I hear one more person equate Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk as if they are indistiguishable . . .

Anyway, I know occaisionally there was a Forgotten Realms interview or the like on Mortality radio, when it was still a regular feature, but that kind of faded out right now. Its only RPG radio's second show, but this really didn't set a good precedence for me.

Well, like I said, the Thieves World part was fine, but I get so tired of the avant gaurde "d20 should push boundaries and should cross genres and so forth." Some of its okay, but its seems like good old D&D is anethema to these types. And another thing . . . if you mention the core rulebooks, Forgotten Realms, DragonLance, Greyhawk, Eberron, or heck, even Kingdoms of Kalamar, ITS NOT D20, ITS DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS. Ah well . . . I'm just getting old and cranky.

And my wife would kill me if I had a talk show of any kind. She hears enough of my voice as it is,
