Posted - 03 Feb 2003 : 21:24:37 For those of you that DM/ play the 3E could you please tell me the benifits to having a Prestige Class or two. I've read the 3E DMG about it and other areas but I'm still confused. I have not played 3E with the exception to IWD2 and NWN so I'm curious about this.
1. Is it Multiclassing or not? 2. What is the expirience ponts for it? 3. If you are 8th Lvl Fighter and you become an Arcane Archer (if you meet the requirements of course) do you start over in XP? 4. Do you then advance as though you were a newly created character? 5. In the 2E when you took a new class (humans mostly) you were not allowed to use your skills from that first class until you surpassed in levels with the second class. Does that still hold true? 6. What are the advantages to taking a Prestige Class?
Any knowledge that you can give out to this humble scribe would be appreciated. |

No, It's like being 9th level 4. same as 3 5. I depends, for example palladin often lost their benefits. But in most case you keep them 6. They often improve the character in a specific way (arcane archer will be a deadly archer, while a archiwizard will become a much more powerful wizard,...)
I hope it'll help |
