I have a quick question, more of interest than anything of importance... in which order were the gods created? I know if went Chauntea, Shar, and Selune then Mystryl- but who next? |

Selūne & Shar were created or just formed together at the same time from the grey mists of the early universe.
Together they created Chauntea and filled the universe with planets and life.
An argument over whether to create a sun to warm Chauntea broke out and in the midst of the War of Light & Darkness sprang forth the gods of Death (Jergal), War (Tempus/Targus/Gargagos), Disease (Talona), Destruction (Kozah/Talos/Bhaelros/Malyk) and other fell gods.
Selūne created the Sun (Amaunator) unilaterally. The war got worse.
In desperation Selūne ripped the essesnce of magic out of her and threw it at Shar which ripped some of the essence of magic out of her as well and this combined essence turned into Mystryl. Mystryl forged a truce between the two at cynosure, thus ending the war.
Oghma interloped from another universe somewhere in the middle of all this.
And that is the early history of Toril's universe. |

Well we know the conflict between Shar and Selune resulted in the gods of war Garagos (having held the portfolio war before Tempus)disease(Talona)murder' death(Jergal?) and others were created. The exact order of the others I wouldn't know but some of the older deites obviously came before the others like Silvanus'Talos'That Jazerian fellow(I know I mispelled that) who was around in the days of thunder was an early one and I'd cram the world serpent up there as being one of the first. The rest probly came up at different times between the time of troubles and the creaton of the older deites. Then leading up to the new ones from the time of troubles . (Kelemvor)
And of course Some foreign deites showed up at odd intervals in Faeruns history as well(Tyr -247 DR)
Thats my way of looking at it anyway

Selune and Shar, Chauntea, Talos and company, Mystryl(Mystra) don't know much further.
