In short, I am fascinated by them. I've read the 3.0 FR Campaign setting and the Lords of Darkness entrees for each but honestly I want more.

Could a nice Sage point me in the right direction? I am potentionally thinking of starting a campaign where my players would be directly involved with that mysterious country. I've already heard two of the players who were particularly excited about the idea say how "cool" it would be to be a team of a Thayan Knight and a Red Wizard of Thay.

Your help in this matter is much appreciated :)

An excellent site Kuje, added it to my Bookmarks :)

Had exactly what I wanted, I'll do business there again. That is...if my books get here OKAY.

Rubs hands in anticipation

They should. As I said I've done biz with Aaron for years and he's never sent me stuff that got damaged in the mail, etc. :)

I'll echo that... well about the "damage" part at least. I just received my third package from Noble Knight this morning and I was impressed at how intact it was considering the distance it had to travel.

They go to great lengths to secure the material before delivery.

Once again, thanks for the help.

Or nobleknight.com. I've done biz with Aaron for years and he's never screwed me. :)

Thanks for the help everyone! The Sage, I ordered, from Amazon...

Unapproachable East
Dreams of the Red Wizards (Used)
Red Magic (Actually I ordered most of the 'Harper' Series)

But I could not find The Spellbound boxed set. What would be my next best choice...ebay maybe?

Kuje, I ordered

The Crimson Gold (was going to order the rest of the series, but funds are running low)
The Villian's Lorebook
Also can't get The Heroes Lorebook yet :/

Moradin, thanks for the suggestions :). I'll run some of these by the players and see how they like them. My main concern is creating a group who are loyal to each other. The pair I mentioned earlier are going to be brothers, and they're the type of of players who are there every session. The rest are static players. So I may just run a two person campaign.

Once again, thanks for the help.

Well, Drake. Think about this, so:

a wizard/red wizard of thay;
a fighter/thayan knight;
a wizard/arcane devotee of Kossuth;
a cleric of Kossuth/Elemental Archon;
a cleric of Kossuth/thiel/Black Flame Zealot;
a thief/Thayan Slaver;
a barbarian/Thayan Gladiator;

IMHO, this is the most complete "evil" Realmish group (given all that prestige classes already done for the Thayans... of course that any DM can prepare an evil group with the other organizations of Faerun).

To add a few more sources:

The Crimson Gold by Voronica Whitney-Robinson, a novel in the Rogues series.

Heroes and Villian's Lorebooks, both from 2e.

Hall of Heroes from 1e, which is the book that the above Lorebooks updated.

Aside from the sources you've mentioned, you'll find the most useful information on the Red Wizards in:-

* The Spellbound boxed set (2e)
* Unapproachable East (3e)
* Dreams of the Red Wizards (2e)
* Red Magic (a novel in the 'Harpers' series)
