Posted - 10 Apr 2005 : 14:50:08 I am in the mysts of creating some characters, three of them. I got the idea from seeing three stars in a triangle postion, and they where inside a larger triangle of stars. Then it hit me while I was driving (Early morning) and had to create them, given I don't play (and should).
I don't have any FR Sourcebooks in order to help me with this as you may have gussed, but I'll lay out the bones. Some of this I've already got layed out with help from Ivanuis (or close to it.) from Wizards Boards. He did most of this for me, I just had to choose.
Priest of Chauntea(Male)
Class: Cleric ---> Divine Disciple ---> Unknown(Missing Priestege Class that will advance)
Guardian of Selune(Female)
Class: Unsure/Unknown
At first she was going to be a Weresomething, but I later felt that she should be a Half Drow/Human Female. I was thinking she could be a Silverstar? I do know she should be Cleric Based like The Priest.
Follower of Lathander(Male)
Class: Sorcerer ---> Arcane Devote ---> Divine Oracle
Figured I would specialize in Fire, Sun, Light Descriptors and as well as Summon Monster Spells for Celestial Creatures.
---
Sourcebooks I've been told to get thus far...
quote: The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting (FRCS) Faiths and Pantheons Players Guide to Faerun Races of Faerun
Now, my two questions (and why I posted the above). Are there any other Sourbooks I should aquire (I have RP'd ever.) and second, are there any Lorebooks (Novels) that could help me with ideas for the history of these characters and give me an ideas to create a campaign for these PC's. I thought I might, depending on the campaign, ad a NPC Mystra Someone. But I want to get these three first before I expand my idea.
*I know I am treading close to going into another portion of the site, but I thought it would be best if I posted the characters thusfar to help with giving me ideas on Sourcebooks and Lorebooks. |

Has to agree with the other two. Faiths & Avatars = much better. I believe in one of the Spellfire books they disguise themselves as clergy of Chauntea for awhile.....
Beyond the High Road also features Princess Tanalasta who follows Chauntea. |

Posted - 11 Apr 2005 : 13:55:54 Well, not I don't have any question on Faiths and Avatars. I figured that would be the better of the choice but I was thinkin that since he posted it and told met o get that, it might be best.
But are there any Novels (lore) that I can read? Like give me a story idea on how Chauntea's Clergy works, etc. |

Well, I was about to post, but I just saw that SB said exactly what I was going to say.
As I was typing, I thought, "I should put a 'Wooly Rupert would agree with me' tagline at the end of my post.
So there you have it Slime Lord, two Great Readers suggesting the same tome. What more can you want?
If you have any questions about Faiths & Avatars fire away. |

If you're truly interested in lore for the three deities these characters follow, I'd go with Faiths & Avatars over Faiths & Pantheons. The former book, although written during 2e times, is vastly superior when it comes to providing lore/history/information about deities. |
