Hey All.

I read in a couple of tomes that the world yes world at that time of Fearun was once long ago blasted apart by the elves some time near the First flowering when many High Magi gatherd around at then center to cast a spell of magnificent power but what was the spell what went wrong and what would have happened if they succeded. also is this the same blast that severed(I think) Evermeet from the Mainland.

Your thoughts

Senbar.

It also created the Moonshaes since those isles were blasted off the coast of Faerun. No I don't recall what book that's in, maybe Evermeet or the Cormanthyr sourcebooks.

First of all, the Sundering was caused by a large group of High Mages hoping to create the island of Evermeet for elves to retreat to. However, the spell failed miserably and killed many inhabitants of Faerun, particularly the people who lived in the coast. It was called the Sundering because whole cities that were by the sea were washed off or sunk into the ocean.

Evermeet was actually a piece of Arvandor, brought to Faerun by several elven deities who saw the destruction that came from the spell that the High Mages have attempted to cast.

The Sundering was aftermath of Evermeets creation
