1. Taverns in Gracklstugh 2. Politics in Gracklstugh 3. Size of Gracklstugh 4. Inns in Gracklstugh 5. Shops in Gracklstugh 6. Dungeons in Gracklstugh
I am going all over the internet to find this info. |

Posted - 31 Jan 2005 : 04:05:29 There is a lengthy write-up of Gracklstugh in the 2E accessory "Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide to the Underdark" by Eric Boyd. A superior product (realmslore-wise) to the 3E accessory "Underdark". It has most if not all of the information you seek.

1) Yup there are a few. 2) They are merchants and craftsmen, thus politics should tend to be along guild lines. Not quite demorcarcy, but not a set ruler merchant either. 3) Its size has varied from population of 90 to that of 30,000 depending on year and/or lore you wish to conside. 4) Yup there are a few. 5) There certainly are some of these. 6) Considering the location it is alrady a dugeon, however yes there certainly are things not yet maped.
There does not appear to be much official source to be found about this location. At least I am not finding much. The community like most others will vary in size based on its fortunes. I did not find any notable Inns, Traverns or shops. What I have found are things like this.
"Gracklstugh: Also known as the City of Blades, the duergar nation of Gracklstugh is just south of the Trollmoors. The nation consists of a large grotto of hollowed-out stalagmites that borders the Darklake, and the gray dwarves use the stone pillars as smelting centers and also build their homes and workshops around them. The duergar control territory for several miles around their home city, allowing in only visitors intent on trade, and they have a large standing army to enforce their claim. The city holds many duergar, derro, slaves of various races, and a clan of stone giants. The city exports fish, mining equipment, and quality steel arms and armor. The derro are the true rulers, controlling the duergar king and the clan leaders with bribes, magic, and threats. Gracklstugh has a large standing army and patrols its borders often."
"The city of Gracklstugh is the largest population of duergar in the North, though they are also fairly common in Mantol-Derith and Skullport, where they work as merchants and craftsmen."
