Posted - 24 Jan 2005 : 20:56:16 The Knights of Myth Drannor. The Company of Crazed Venturers. The Companions of the Hall. Everyone has heard of these well known adventuring parties but there must be countless others we don't know about. Obviously there are plenty of references to others scattered through various sources. What I'm interested in, however, is the adventuring groups any of our scribes have been part of, or indeed still are. I was looking to come up with some other (in)famous adventuring parties to use in my campaign and thought that some of the scribes here would have some interesting ideas which I may be able to use. Basically this is an opportunity to post your party, with a short stat line (or detailed if you so wish but I'm happy with male moon elf Wiz7 CG sort of thing), description and background for each character. Add to this the party's goals and accomplishments and the region they operate in and you have a perfectly usable NPC party. So if anyone would like to share, I would appreciate it. I'll get round to posting my players' party shortly. |

You meant mop, but never mind.
Seriously, if other people would like to share their parties here, I'd be very interested to hear about them. |

Posted - 28 Jan 2005 : 00:37:56 Yes, such modesty is indeed unusual in a bard...
Anyway, as promised here is my group's party.
Presenting the Silver Swords:
An adventuring company based in Silverymoon and named for the Gem of the North and also a elven moonblade carried by one of the party. The blad itself is lacking a moonstone and this is what they are currently looking for. They have recently finished questing in the Mere of Dead Men and news has filtered in that King Obould has besieged a large portion of the Marches...
The party consists of: Kosh Bellan (male rock gnome Sor 11 LG) The leader, Kosh originally hails from Waterdeep, where he has strong family ties, and is the longest surviving member of the company. Less hot headed and more patient than many of his companions, Kosh's magic had proved vital to the party on numerous occassions.
Torrith Sleepflower (male wood elf Rgr 9 CG) Charismatic with a strong personality and typical elvish good looks, Torrith earns respect from most people he meets. The only other original member, after apparantly being slain, he was later found in the service of Turlang of the High Forest. This and the appearance of what has been discovered to be a moonblade suggests he is marked for great things.
'Agent' Darkblade (male human Rog 8/Agent 1 (new PrC) N) Part of a growing network of self-styled agents in the North, individuals who profit from information and skill, Darkblade's history lays forgotten. Driven by the allure of money more than anything else, he is resourceful and inventive, remaining somewhat aloof at times. He does not always see eye to eye with Milo.
Taklinn Orlager (female shield dwarf Bbn 6/Battlerager 2 CG) Fearless and occasionally reckless, Taklinn’s courage and loyalty cannot be questioned. Aiming to prove herself to the Gutbusters of her home of Mithral Hall, she works hard for the good of all but can be prone to putting herself in danger through rash action.
Milo Tosscobble (male lightfoot halfling Drd 8 N) A druid with an attitude problem and a fondness for bears, Milo, or Tosscobble as he is more usually referred to, is the newest member of the company. A victim of a ghost dragon’s breath weapon, he has been prematurely aged, meaning he is physically very frail, but his deep insights tend to be worth listening to. |

Zeltash is a member of House Floshin, recruited into the army by Sarya Dlardrageth after his release from Nar Kerymhoarth. He is the leader of one of the secret groups sent out by Saryas spymaster, Nurthel Floshin, to make contact with the Drow, and try to bring them to the Fey’ri cause. Whilst out alone from his small band of Fey’ri, who were travelling in secret to the Underdark, Zeltash spotted two half-drow travelling together, and lay in wait to observe them. At that moment the two half-drow were set upon by one of the Vrocks that had accompanied the Fey’ri group. After all Zeltash had to test these two if they were to become unwitting allies. The pair began to defeat the Vrock after a blinding display of martial arts and divine powers, at which point Zeltash stepped in and with a fine display of his own, and destroyed his once ally. He quickly discerned that the female of the two was desperate for revenge and used this to his advantage, telling the two that he could help find this Jarl she seeked, in return for their services in acting as emissaries to their home city, Menzoberranzan. The pair refused, and Zeltash reported what he had found with a thought, to Nurthel. After instruction from Nurthel, Zeltash coerced the half-drow pair into travelling with him to Hellgate Keep.

Faelindriel was born to Kaliatarvek Oblodra, which is where she derives her self styled surname from. Kaliatarvek was engaged in scrying the surface above Menzoberranzan when a human enchanter took it upon himself to place an enchantment upon the drow, who was low in Llolths church and strong in the Psionic powers.. The drow Psion was compelled to follow the mage’s orders, who paraded her in underground clubs, before selling her to another willing buyer, Jalar Ebonhand, a mage in Waterdeep. Kaliatarvek eventually escaped, but not before she was pregnant with Jalars child. Back in Menzoberranzan, after all had assumed Kaliatarvek dead, she returned, heavily pregnant and gave birth to the Human-Drow half breed. She would have been destroyed had she not used her psychic powers to spirit herself and the child away to the underdark, surviving on what she could out there. Shortly before Faelindriel was 16 years old (a child by the drow standards), Kaliatarvek passed on, her mind destroyed by the intense effort in keeping her child safe. Faelindriel learned to survive in the underdark with the only things she had, her strong senses and her own body. Time and again Faelindriel was attacked in the Underdark and she learned to harness the strength inside herself to turn her body into a weapon. She barely repelled the many horrors of the Underdark, and yet the rage that burned inside her at the brutality of her mothers treatment, by the Drow and by Jalar, pushed her onwards. In a fevered dream Kiaransalee appeared to her in a dream and showed her how sweet the vengeance she craved could be, unlocking her latent Psionic powers that night. Faelindriel awoke to find her hands had turned into vicious claws, and had punctured the rocks where she had slept and dreamt. With a thought Faelindriel reformed the claws into her normal hands and strode off through the Underdark towards the surface world.

Ott was instructed in the teachings of Tempus when he enlisted in Sarya Dlardrageths army that attacked the elves. Caring only for battle he adopted the teachings easily, and flourished in Sarya’s army. He is one of the few survivors of the Battle of the Lonely Moor, still loyal to the cause, as he sees many more battles still to be fought. He was given magical gifts by the Fey’ri to aid him in battle and make him a fearsome opponent, wielding his gigantic club in just one hand. Ott was part of the party sent out with Zeltash, either to intimidate the drow, or to do what Ott does best when things go badly…slaughter.
The cleric was sent by Kiriansalee to guide Faelindriel |

Posted - 25 Jan 2005 : 15:21:53 (Epic) Faith's Hand Raven - Human/Tiefling/Shade CN/CG Male Fighter20/Barbarian7 (ish) Evandele Galonodel (Del) of House Azuviir - Drow Female CG Sor14/Clr9/MT6/DragonD2 Ian - 1/2 Drow CG Male Ranger20/Rogue12 (ish) Rozhena - Human NG (I think?) Cleric29/Divine Disciple4 (ish)
These four heroes are dedicated to the cause of Good. They make their home in a newly built town/keep (Faithhome) outside of Tezier but have been known to travel throughout most of the Dalelands. Rozehena as a Cleric to Torm. Del a Cleric to Elistrae. Raven also worships Elistrae. Ian worships the unicorn goddess - Larue. Together and individually they struggle to defend, lead and protect their lands and their dieties dogma against the Evil in Faerun.
Temperments: Raven - chaotic...likes to kill things, charges into battle, willing to take risks Del - Drow Matron - prideful, yet very caring, does not bow to anyone but will go out of her way to help everyone Ian - the quiet one, the planner, thinks before acting Rozehena - Bold in her quest against evil. Less than "appropriate" tone for a cleric occasionally.
I'm not sure of the exact stats but you can probably work from there.
Hope that helps. We can probably give you tons more information if you'd like. ~Fireheart |
