Well, I guess I don't feel so bad since my wife knows that, if I had to choose between her and my books, I'd get over my loss with a good novel!

I know someone whose sleeping on the couch tonight

Without a novel, too!

If hes not careful his novels may end up in the Fireplace in the lounge room

Honey, make yourself useful, grab an FR book to carry with you as you flee the natural disaster.

Thankfully the big one was in the "country" - we only had a little bushfire in the hills just outside Adelaide. We are due a big one though ... hills residents have become very complacent in the last couple of years or so. But thanks for asking!

As for all that Realmslore, I've often wondered what I'd do if my house was on fire and what I'd grab first (other than my wife and son). What a disaster to lose the 'Ed Greenwood Secret Files, Vols.I-XX', the 'Lineage Compendium of the Realms' or Steven's 'History of the Arunsun, Wands & Thann Families'. Not to mention Eric's 'Archwizards of Netheril - Past & Present' lore and the 'Cormyr Compendium'. A tragedy in the making.

*snickers* I felt that way when I had to run from Hurricane Frances. At the time it was a Category 4, and if that had hit here, my apartment would have been toast. I took my computer and all my game books, but I didn't have room for much else... I only took a handful of my novels, simply because that was all I could take.

Luckily, the storm turned and lost power... All that happened was that I was without power for a week, and the carpet inside my front door got wet.

Oh, and what does this say about me: when getting ready to run, I almost forgot to take my clothes!

And send all that lovely Realmslore to Dargoth and I, for safe keeping . . . We'll return it . . . eventually.
