Ah yes, Chaotic Neutrals...the mad men and women of the world.

For role-playing quirks - are you looking stereotypical, "historical" or unique?

For stereotypical - costuming - baggy pants, sashes, bandana. Most stereotypical pirates had lots of weapons - make sure you have back ups of your backup and are carrying several different ones.
Speech: Rough, not formal - lots of Yarr's, there be.., etc.
Keeping with stereotypical - pirates are supposed to have a love of life - 'cause they never know when they might die. So lots of wine, women and song when you're in port.

From a historical perspective: There are a lot of Pirate fan groups/reenactment groups. "No Quarter Given" is one of the most well-known. You can probably check their website for more pirate history. IIRC,for example: Pirate ships didn't typically have a "First Mate." First Mate is a naval term and so most Pirate Ships had the Quartermaster in that role (second in command). Also, technically the Quartermaster was in charge until actual combat - then the captain took over - deciding which ships to attack and how.

Hope that helps.

Nice to see you got promoted from crew to Captain, did you kill the last one?

What is the rest of the crew, though this matters not as much as playing a CN character it might help to provide advise?

In general a Chaotic do what they want to do in regards to ethics tend to make poor leaders unless they pay and/or scare the crew well. This though certainly useful in being a pirate where one might decide to kill, kidnap and certainly rob. There is no one way that anybody can tell you how to play a priate or any one way one can tell you how to play any alignment. The same actions can be done by any character, the difference is why they do it that reflects alignment. There are many ways to be a priate, many have acted under the color of law of at least one nation, many have acted without such protection. There are many ways to be a raider, some more direct and some subtile however both groups certainly considered pirates by most, some could consider some to be heros as oposed to villians.

Quite an interesting character, with such an alignment following such a deity...

Is your character going to be the captain of the ship or just a crew member?

First question, why an air genasi? I'd think that a water genasi would be more appropriate...
