I can't seem to find the classes here on Candle, so I figured I'd come to the board and ask.
What information on human-male-good align mercenaries can I learn about or be told about? As well as the god(ess) they might follow? |

Faiths & Avatars from 2e is the best info on the main powers of Faerun unlike Faiths and Pantheons for 3e. :) |

See, I try downloading that above link and it wouldn't work for me...Figures. When I'm wanting information for character creation (Writing, not RPG), I just can't get what I need!!! Lol!
What is in Tempus's Portfolio again? Tymora would work preety well with for me and play well into my writing...
I'll try and hunt Tempus down firs though, but if anyone can post stuff thanks :)
Edit: Managed to go to Wizards and find the download, worked properly. Still hunting down Tempus information though. None of the sites I have in my Favorites don't seem to yeild anything. I did find his portfoilo, but that is all. It doesn't give me much more... |

The 1e and 2e campaign box sets as well but most of that info is in Gold and Glory, which was mentioned above. |

As for what god, overwhelmingly Tempus, then (among good mercenaries) Tymora.
(I don't like gods' power being determined by their number of worshippers, and don't think it's internally consistent. Worshippers of antisocial gods are an insignificant number compared to worshippers of productive gods like Chauntea and Waukeen, or benevolent gods like Tymora, yet the evil gods must be strong.) |

That depends on how one defines "mercenary". Adventurers are mercenaries in general, due their profession generally being "fighting for pay". However, if you mean in the classical sense, a trained soldier that fights for pay, there is a 2e supplement entitled "Gold and Glory" available for free download at the wizards site Here, for free.
I am sure there are a slew of references to mercenary life in the realms scattered about the Novels, and many of the people here are far more knowledgeable about them than I am, and could most likely help more.
However, information is sketchy at best(as with many aspects of the realms) and one must use their best judgement, and infer and extrapolate such things from a combination of available sources, common sense, and historical texts.
There is also some *ahem* fan written fiction available on the subject, but beyond the sources I mentioned above(unless I missed something) you are pretty much on your own. |
