The "Free Classic Downloads" on the WotC website is a great place for free, legal downloads. It is agreat place for 2nd edition info, though some of the best 2nd FR books are not there, such as Cloak and Dagger. For the Dalelands area, you can download Cormanthyr: Empire of the Elves. Most of the book is about Myth Drannor, but there is information on the geography and history of the area, and the history of the Elven Court.

Alaundo won't be happy. We shouldn't speak about such things!
Anyway, you can download books from www.wizards.com in the "download classic products" chapter (chapter is the only word i found )
And then, it's kind of... well... a little bit... illegal... so Kazaa, eDonkey, WinMX, eMule sorry Alaundo
