Posted - 01 Sep 2004 : 22:03:53 I have a question, regarding these strange heart eating creaures. I read somewhere, don't aske where cus I can't remember, that they where the creations of the Imaskari. Now reading through my own sources I find nothing that confirms it nor really says otherwise. The one thing should be that they generally live in the North, not that it really creates a problem.
Just thought I throw this out and see if it turns up with anything ... |

I think I found that passage you were looking for.... If so then it is in the Elminster's Ecologies box set in the Thar booklet. :) It describes the gods cursing human's who might have dwelled in Imaskari...... |

I do know that perytons are a menace in the Vast, along with manticores, orcs, trolls, and afew other nasties.
Doesn't answer the direction question, but it is about perytons , at least.
Hmm, yes it is. It seemed as a possible idea considering the Imaskari's wicked nature and othere creations they came up with. |

Monsters of Faerūn, p.69: "As a consequence of their origin as the creation of a twisted deity, perytons are the most miserable creatures in existence."
So, no link with the Imaskari, sorry. You probably did confuse them with the Phaerimm or you maybe read this bit while playing Baldur's Gate or other FR computer game (where the info is not considered canon, although no one at WotC will say this...)
Hmm, perhaps I just might have thnx for your efforts any way. I just write it of as a rumor then. |

Nah, it's fine. Wish I could have been better help which is why I asked what I asked before. But no idea where you read that passage. |

Well excuse me! Gees, I was just asking. People do make mistakes in lore, but never mind. I'm done with this topic since you want to jump down my throat for asking a honest question.

You sure your not thinking of the Phaerimm? Some of them were created by the Imaskari...... Believe that's in Underdark. |
