For those who didn't read "discussions about a region", you should to understand what i mean to do here

Well i can't say much about Daggerdale. I'll try to search i my own huge dusty library

Here are some books you could pick some informations:
Volo`s Guide to the Dalelands
The Sword of the Dales (Part 1)
The Secret of Spiderhaunt (Part 2)
The Return of Randal Morn (Part 3)
The Doom of Daggerdale adventure module
The Dalelands accessory

I don't know a lot about the history of Daggerdale.
I'll begin with the only settlement: Daggerfall
It's only 800 hundred people town, and i think they're mainly humans
It began as human a storage place for dwarven iron and really became a town when they decided to fortified it to protect it from the raids.
But after the fall of Tashendale (sorry i don't know a lot about this fall, but i beleive that the zhents are involved in) the zhentarim put one of their learder at the head of Daggerdale: Malyk. Then Randal Morn beated Zhentil Keep, the most obvious of the Zhents were driven out of the city. The town had to rebuilt (the temple of Lathander had been destroyed) but the times were hard to live, the zhents left with much of the money
But now i think it's a place worth to fight for. It'll grow if the zhentarim or other old ennemies don't come back.

My sources are a little bit old (Marco Volo guide to Dalelands) so does anyone know what happened to Daggefall and Daggerdale after that?

What is the current situation with Daggerdale? I believe that the Zhentarim have been completely flushed out and overrun from Dagger Falls? (I may have this the wrong way round though and the Zhentarim are now in full occupancy!? )

Is there still a constable ruling over Dagger Falls? I think there was one other constable appointed after Constable Tren, does anyone know who this was and what the situation is currently?

Ok, so where to start?
I ran much of my first FR campaign up in Daggerdale, the PCs met Randal Morn briefly as part of a pre-adventure where he was galloping away from a Zhentarim patrol. They later rescued Randal (in part of the Daggerdale adventure trilogy) and met him again later at the conclusion.

I learnt much about the area and of Dagger Falls and fleshed the whole setting and modules out a lot more. I created numerous NPC's which ill dig out later and list here as well as any other relevent information I can find.

And i begin with a quote from a long know old guy to give to the ones who don't know Daggerdale at all a preview

" A land under siege, that`s what Daggerdale is. For decades now they`ve been fighting off raiders and Zhentarim, since the fall of Teshendale. Some of the other Dalesmen believe Daggerdalesmen to be a cruel, surly lot who only got what they deserved - but I've never known more courageous and tenacious fighters. All they want is a land free of spies and raiders, and who among ye can not understand that?"

- Elminster , sage of Shadowdale -

It seems to be a harsh place, isn't it?

By the way i don't think it'd be good to just quote those books.
We should share adventures we had in this region, what we thought about the history, the leaders...

The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting of course has information about Daggerdale. IIRC the hardcover FR Adventures visits the area as well as A Grand Tour of the Realms from the 2e FR Grey Box set.

I'm not sure if any of the 'old' Harper's series of novels visited the area, but it would seem a logiacal series to find some 'fluff' information.

Ok, lets start off by listing which FR products feature details on Daggerdale, that way anyone who wishes to participate in this topic know where to look....

The products im aware of are:

1) The Doom of Daggerdale adventure module
2) The Return of Randal Morn adventure module
3) The Dalelands accessory

Im sure there are more but I cant check at the moment, but ill have a look sometime soon.
