Posted - 05 Aug 2004 : 20:17:50 Okay, so here is what is happening in my game. The PCs are all sixth level and are all very strong for their level. THe party consists of the following.
6th level Human Barbarian, once did 80 damage with two crits 6th level Human Wizard 6th level Dwarven Cleric of Gond 6th level Tiefling Fighter/Rogue
Now they are all one hundred years in the future in Faerun. Where a powerful Wizard had unleashed demons all upon the world. Now said Wizard lives in the city fo shade. He has taken control of all magic and demands that all magic user pay tribute to him as being greater than the gods themselves. The party Wizard does not yet know this however. All the gods have become distant with the exception of a few, most hiding out in the Prime Material Plane.
Now they are all charging off to their detahs in the city of shade. Now I hate to do this, but I am going to have the main BBEG show up and more or less slaughther them, and take all their armor, but leave them alive. Then one of the PCs old charcters ghosts will inform that that they need to go on a long quest to become stronger and to get what they need to properly defeat him. So, I am going to have four places where they have to go and get their armor.
I am thinking of somewhere in the north for the Barbarian. Calimshan for the Tiefling. The Plains of Purple Dust for the mage. And here is why the topic is called "Realmspace"somehwere in Realmspace for the Dwarves armor. For Gond is hiding out on one of the planets.
They will need to complete each one of the four individually. Os, I am thinking of inviting them over one at a tme(except for my older brother, cause he lives with me) and doing their own dungeon. And in the end getting their required armor.
I just need some info on Realmspace for the Dwarves quest. Preferable online documents, because I can not buy anything online or in stores really.
EDIT: I have also made some changes to the realms. Waterdeep and Baldurs gate have been destroyed, as wel as Candlekeep. There is a lrage chasm across much of southern Faerun and all the plant life is dying and water is scarce. and most of the gods are not answering their Clerics spells. Many of them are dead, and some hiding.
Yes, I have dropped not so subtle hints that the WIzard is way to powerful for them, but they are going anyway. |

Give me a couple of days to check out a couple things and work up a scenario...
I found the other thing I was thinking about, the odd moon around H'Catha:
Lumbe is a metallic cylinder orbiting H'Catha. It's 600 feet by 75 feet. There are doors in either end. If you listen at a door before going in, you here noise, but the noise stops when you go in. Inside is a wizard's laboratory -- "One thing that should be extremely clear, is that every item of destruction in this lab is an item of incredible power and utter lethality." (page 50, Realmspace) But all of that stuff is just seriously realistic illusions -- you don't find out until you use it, and it dissipates.
The mage this lab belongs to is named Sarelk. He's a sage, too, and is "estimated at being equal or greater in level than Elminster." (same page). This is the guy who created the Batship, and he's trying to figure out how to fight it. |

I'm curious about that, too... But no, I'd not forgotten about Selūne. 'Tis just that the describing of planetary bodies was interrupted before we got there, and I was just now describing all the non-planetary stuff.
Though I do seem to recall something about one of the moons of H'Catha as being interesting... I'll check when I get up in the morn -- I shoulda been in bed 90 minutes ago! |

Uhhh, you guys do not have to do all that.
Okay I will narrow it down. all I want is a bit of info om any possible adventure sites, and a brief summary of what the differnet races ships look like.
The Realmspace supplement only had a couple of new ships in it. One was the Batship, a unique vessel. The other two were both ships used by the island nation of Wa. The Tsunami looked like a big centipede. It was a carrier, and carries a bunch of dinky little ships called Locusts -- guess what they looked like?
None of the planets in the book were given more than a few pages for overview. It was pretty general, enough to give you an idea of what each planet was like, but not enough to really make a world of it. To get what I'm saying a bit better, try to describe all of Toril -- not just Faerūn, but all of it -- in about five pages, leaving room for important NPCs.
So really, there aren't that many specifically interesting places to visit that are described.
Let's see, the odd places of interest that are mentioned:
Comet K'Thouteh: A 300-mile diameter chunk of ice and water. The only critter there is a oortling haunt. Oortlings are 3' tall humanoids with big brains that illithids like. The haunt just wants to get off the comet and go hunt some illithids.
Skull of the Void: A 12-mile high skull floating in space. It's inhabited by illithids that have become mutated a bit from their constant diet of beholder brains.
Caer Windlauer: A castle that was formerly in the Moonshaes. It's empty except for a happily lonely stone giant.
Galleon Nebula: It's a nebula that looks like a ship, and is a big wild magic area.
Color Spray Nebula: Another nebula. It cures disease for people that sail into it, but can drain magical items, and sometimes inflicts cancer that cure disease won't kill. |

Posted - 11 Aug 2004 : 16:12:00 That sounds workable, friend Sage.
I'll grab the sun and Anadia right now.
First, is the sun. It's big and it's hot, and it's got a lot of openings to the Elemental Plane of Fire. The critters that live there are, of course, the fiery kind. A kind of new critter living there is the helian, which is a combo of a fire deity's follower's dead soul and the heat of the plane. They look like regular people composed of flame. They keep all of their old knowledge, but nothing of their old experiences.
40 million miles out from the sun are 12 100,000-mile wide sargassos (magic dead areas).
Anadia is the first planet out from the sun, a mere 12 hours away (50 million miles). It's a pretty hot place. Most of the planet is dry and rocky, pretty much uninhabitable except for critters that like to eat rock, like umber hulks.
The poles are inhabited by halflings that have become accustomed to living here. There's mountains, rolling hills, streams, and rivers. Plenty of plant life, too, including some unique plants.
The halflings at the north pole are organized and have a central government, divided into thirteen counties. Only four counties welcome spelljammers -- the others will try to shoot you down. These guys are also rather stuck on themselves, and think that halflings are the highest form of life around. All other intelligent races are "sub-halfling."
The halflings of the southern pole are a chaotic and feuding bunch. Expect to be attacked if you go there.
A unique critter here is the anadjiin. 'Tis a 10-foot tall humanoid, and it's nasty. It's an intelligent daytime hunter with some nasty claws.
Hopefully that's enough info to work with, but vague enough to not irk a certain staff-weilding moderator... |

No, I can not. I am having some...problems as of now. Now, where is that blasted Sage when you need him.
I'm here... now...
But I must agree with Wooly... The type of questions you are asking would likely require posting most of the information from the tome itself. That, as we know... is illegal.

Since Wooly and I have access to the same tome, perhaps we could individually post summary information on each of the planets... Between the two of us, I'm certain we can come up with something.
What do you think Wooly?

If you're willing to elaborate more on what you're looking for, I'd most likely be able to provide some summary information from the Realmspace tome itself...

Perhaps you could be a bit more specific? After all, you just asked for the majority of the book!
Maybe something on any ruins that there might be, and other stuff like that. LOL, I do srto of need all that info.

No, I did not even know that Candlekeep went down for a bit. Oh yeah I feel really stupid for not mentioning this, but they travelled forward in time by accident via a weird magical field in a different plane. That is another long story. |
