Posted - 08 Aug 2004 : 22:23:22 When I left to visit the mythical country of Wales the gates to the keep were shut and no amount of trying would open them. Now I have returned and found everything is normal, thanks to all for fixing the problem. |

Lottery = a tax for those who don't know math.
I've thought of that same thing. We do have a lottery down here, but it seems they want the 6 numbers to all be on the same ticket... |

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 11:03:49 I was perusing through when I noticed this and said to myself "Now this is one scroll Alaundo will definitely keep open unless we get off the topic." Where was I...
Good work Alaundo, keep it up!! |

If CandleKeep is the Fr equivalent to PBS, should we have an official appealathon or something to help out Alaundo in his time of need? I wonder which "guest stars" could be convinced to appear for the benfit? Suggestions anybody?

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 08:48:26 Well met
Thank ye all once again for the kind words and generous offers. I cannot stress enough that the lore which thee all provide and thy company herein is what matters and what makes it a pleasure to keep this library running.
I will certainly attempt to obtain a donation plate due to the heavy hit taken lately Thank ye all. |

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 04:43:05 Good to see you all back in these hallowed halls and a big thanks to Alaundo. My life was strangely empty for the last couple of days - I'd not realised how "into" this place I'd become.

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 03:22:11 indeed, if something were set up, I'd probably be able to part with a few gold to be able to help with the upkeep of this find place of learning.

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 02:53:02 Hail to you Alaundo for conjuring off a minor miracle in restoring the hallowed halls and libraries of this wonderful place. I had thought that Tezail the Arch-fiend had managed to over-run the keep while I was away but you can't easily extinguish the torch of learning!
Alaundo, I think your idea of the brass plate for donations to keep this place running and all the hard work you do is a worthy one. You could take a leaf from a certain horror writers book and have a secure site where people could leave a donation to aid you in your efforts. I for one would be willing to part with a few GP to make sure that this place stays upright for eons to come.

Posted - 03 Aug 2004 : 00:30:23 This is most grand news indeed. I was beginning to worry that Candlekeep may return to the dust from whence it sprang, like so many other settlements and spellschools around the sword coast... Good to see that it is indeed a false thought... |

Well met
Many thanks for the extremely kind and generous offer, Sarelle. Candlekeep does indeed drain the coffers constantly, but 'tis a pleasure to be able to provide a library of Realmslore for thee all to feel at home in Of course any such donations are greatfully received to aid in the running of the library... maybe i'll leave a humble brass plate for thy coppers next to the door sometime
....'tis indeed good to be back |

Thank ye all Indeed, we are back open once again with no loss of scrolls. A great many hours of sleep were lost and sweating brows all round with myself and my fellow Head scribes. Thank ye all who helped recover Candlekeep from the dark depths of the Abyss (which it did indeed appear to be not so long ago!).
The coffers of Candlekeep are looking very poor due to other services employed to restore the library....however, 'tis all worth it |
