Posted - 15 Jul 2004 : 18:46:57 I was randomly surfing the net today and came across a site dedicated to creating a free online enclyclopedia of EVERYTHING! And it isn;t doing too badly either. It's the sort of thing that interests me (the spread of knowledge) so I joined and search for ways I could contribute.
There is a large section dedicated to comics and other such things, including Dungeons and Dragons and the Forgotten Realms.
You may edit/create any subject you wish, as long as you don't make it overly long or try to wreck others' hard work (there are rules you can read there).
So juat thought I'd link it here, so that any other scribes or sages who might want to help out may -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forgotten_Realms.
So far I've updated and spruced up information on Cyric, fleshed out the stuff on Ed Greenwood, and created a page for Mask. My Wikipedia username is Erolos - if you wish to contact me through it.
EDIT: Oh and, of course, only official interpretations are allowed, no self-promoting or fanon stuff - I'm sure they have enough of a headache with dealing with that without my help. |

I agree with that.
I guess what I would really like to see is a compendium (or series of compediums) which organizes the lore of the Realms into something that is easier to read and sort through. Something of like the fabled Tome of FR Fluff we where talking about some time ago . It would be an interesting project for the scribes here at Candlekeep (ambitious too).
P.S. Nice drawing of your Character. Is she a Dark Elf or is she very in tune with Nature? |

This is a great idea. I was thinking of ways for compiling FR lore into a more accessible and concentrated format. This would be the perfect venue for it.
Nice find, Sarelle

The 'pedia is more about references and overviews - but there are plenty of those to be done. For one - Elaine Cunningham isn't even listed as a fantasy author! But I'm wiped out and am retiring for today, so it'll have to wait. |
