Posted - 23 Mar 2025 : 23:07:19 Greetings and salutations oh great and wise Sages of the Realm.
Real quick backstory.... Covid came. I got bored. Starting writing the "history" of my first DnD Character from when I started playing back in 1980 but from a more "this is what it would be like now" kind of thing versus a "what happened to him in all this time" approach.
Anyway... One book led to a second book which is now 4 finished books and a fifth one that should wrap it all up (but that's what I said after the first one though). Even though I wrote them just to tell his story, I have tried to stay true to the canon of DnD and have spent months of research just to find one little tidbit of information so it doesn't conflict with what is "known" and published. I have tried to avoid "changing" anything conical but think I am at a point where I might have to do something that will just to close out the story.
Before you ask... Yes, I've thought about publishing them but it was really just more for me to get it out of my head. I don't know if they would get approved by Wizards to get published is another reason why I haven't done it yet. I could have written them from a non-DnD perspective but wanted his story to be part of the bigger story (even if it never gets published).
In my books, my guy ends up in Cormyr in 1494 DR and Raedra is the Queen. Erzoured is there and still causing trouble. I won't go into any detail but here are my questions.
After all these years of causing trouble (basically saying he is the rightful King and such), wouldn't he have married and had kids of his own to have a better claim on the Crown? Especially since Raedra herself is unmarried and without heir?
Wouldn't Raedra realize that if she doesn't have an heir, all her efforts to keep her cousin at bay would be for naught if she died?
We know Raedra was married once to Lindon Huntcrown and then publicly executed her husband 2 ten-days later for spying. We also know that she had a love interest in Aubrin Crownsilver that was broken off when she became Queen.
So the BIG questions are Who would they have married? I know you can't talk about certain things, but who is there for them to marry?
Erzoured would have to marry someone that held similar thinking as his about the Crown or they may turn him in for plotting against the Queen. So that would be one of the "less loyal" Houses.
Raedra would need someone to match her...not so much in power...but her strong personality and spirit. There are several possibilities but from what I know and have read (on here mostly) about the Royal family tree...it didn't always fork far from the main line. Part of me says she would want to "return" to the loyal Royal lines, but with the 3 "Silver" lines all but non-existent (don't remember where I saw that), there really isn't much Royal blood to choose from.
I found one single reference to who Raedra "might" have married but it was not from a source book or anything conical. I think it was from a campaign that person was doing and he just extended the family tree they way he thought it would be. I also thought I had found something that said Erzoured had married and had two(??) children. I can't find that reference any more so maybe that was all in my head.
Just wondering what the Great Sages think about the likelihood of the two of them being married (not to each other) at some point between the wars with Netheril and Sembia (which the timeline is well established leading up to Cormyr's victory) and what would be about ten years since they were over.
Looking forward to reading your insight.
Thanks
