Posted - 01 Jan 2025 : 20:30:14 I'm currently running FRC1 Ruins of Adventure with the Shadowdark rules for my kids. I'm prepping Valjevo Castle, and it doesn't seem to list where the Pool of Radiance is located. In the book it was in the room with Srossar the possessed bronze dragon, but its never pinned down. Was this ever clarified anywhere?
The other somewhat frustrating thing is that all across the module various NPCs and books can hint at the nature/location/abilities of the Pool of Radiance, but no where is that described really. In the text as-written, it seems like a very limited portal to a dark dimension. I believe that later there was a lot of Pool lore created, and I'm looking to get a sense of what hints I should be dropping.
Thanks sages!

I looked through my copy and it seems the Pool isn't in Phlan at all, but in the north, beyond and perhaps NW of the Dragonspine mountains (pages 43 and 52).
Good catch! Seems anti-climatic though. |
