Posted - 21 Nov 2024 : 21:49:21 Don't know where else to post this so I thought I'd post it in this board. I was curious what you folks would say you appreciate the most of what I've posted on here so far. I'm going through rough times and would like to here what I've done on Candlekeep that people like/love the most. |

Oh you think it's bad in 3.5. Try some of the later editions. The trail is barely visible.
Honestly, when it comes to fluff, you can't beat 2E. I felt that way when I was running 3E games. I feel that way now. The best lore is from that edition.
Edit: The good thing now is that all of those books are available in PDF on the DM's Guild. Seriously, check out Faiths & Avatars and Powers & Pantheons. Very good books for that sort of lore.
I have physical copies of all 3 of those rulebooks on my bookshelf.
Oh... well then I am... I'll just... I can... over... here. |

It sounds to me like you're interested generally in characters of faith. That's a pretty good place to start.
Well, that's one aspect of the 3.5 Edition rules for the Realms that really trails off.

-Your humility. Ha, no, the title just made me chuckle. Echoing others, making clerics feel different based on who they worship rather than stock "At X level, they do Y and Z", always adds flavor.
That's the thing: A Cleric of Lathander likely does certain things more (or better) compared to, say, a Cleric of Tempus. A CG-aligned Cleric of Lathander might be better at destroying undead while a CG-aligned Cleric of Tempus might be better as a secondary warrior. |

For me it would be your 3.5e priest builds from Faiths and Avatars and really looking forward to what you're planning on doing for this in the future. |

Hard to say what I enjoy the best. Dunno if it's the cleric domains, the Specialty Priest PrCs or the Heralds & Allies (ala Complete Divine).

Turning the tables for a moment, what do you enjoy the most about what you've posted? I'm asking because while it often feels to good to me to get that external validation from people, I tend to get anxious when I try to chase something I think other people will like. Ironically, it's more validating when it's something I love, even if other people are not that interested. It's like an act of self-compassion. In a lot of ways, that's what Ed Greenwood did too. The main reason he sold the rights to the Realms was because he knew TSR would create professional, full color maps of Faerun. He didn't care about the money.
If you love it, do more of it. Become your own audience. You're an awesome, target demographic.

Posted - 25 Nov 2024 : 19:45:56 I loved the Rise of Fire campaign proposal that you came up with. (My offer still stands to do a collaboration for the DM's Guild, if you're so inclined. ) |

I'd have to say the Specialty Priests conversions to 3.5 have been extremely interesting to read and use in my own games. Thank you!
Happy to help. |

I enjoyed reading your builds and adventures through the Icewind Dales; both games that I never finished. Will be perusing both scrolls if I ever have the time to play them.
Good to know.
Oh, wait! I need to update my IWD2 thread! |

Your 3.5e priest builds adapted from Faiths and Avatars.
Glad to hear it.
That reminds me, I should get back to that sooner or later. Was still hoping to adapt the following from that and the other 2 books: - All the specialty priests for the Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, Halfling and Mulhorandi pantheons - Serphidian for Sseth - Other human deities I haven't covered yet (Garagos, Uthgar, etc.)
Also was hoping to make some for the Orc pantheon as well, possibly Goblinoids (mainly just for Maglubiyet and Hruggek) as well as Kurtulkmak. That's going to be a huge undertaking, though, especially nowadays (ie: Adulting sucks). |
