so i play church Inquisitor 3.5 and one of my class features is Immune to Compulsions. i am a high caster and can cast end of strife. so my thought on this is if i can spell it without having to worry about the effects of the spell. so i can attack without taking damage. but because of this the DM says because i am immune the spell cant be cast on me.

Thoughts???

End of strife affects an area centered on the caster, not the caster itself.

but looking at immunity "Spell Immunity (Ex)
A creature with spell immunity avoids the effects of spells and spell-like abilities that directly affect it"
as you can see it says avoids the effects, nothing about the spell been cancelled. so is the spell is still in effect but just not working on me??

You are immune to the effects of compulsion spells, but look at the spell again: it's an emanation effect that is centered on the caster but it doesn't affect the caster. Your DM is wrong.

Now, if the target had been "the caster", then your DM would be right.
