Looking at the Strixhaven product got me thinking about something I'd recently been doing (the creation of an artificer adaptation of plumaweavers and hishnashapers). My thoughts were that while in Abeir, artificer studies may have blossomed. That said, as I look at DM's guild, I see several takes on artificers that focus on a very specific type of "crafting". I wanted to take these concepts and make them a bit more generalized. I also wanted to play with an idea for some that might be more like an NPC class as well, for people that don't WANT to adventure, but want to fulfill a magical role.

For discussions sake, throwing out the general ideas (including names that are made to sound semi-magical, but also explanatory)

The Culinarcanist - specialists in brewer's supplies, cook's utensils, and poisoner's kit, an artificer whose specialty is on cooking, brewing, hidden poison making, herbalistic medicines,

The Artistificer - specialists in Potter's tools, Painter's supplies, and woodcarver's tools, an artificer that focuses on painting, tattooing, sculpting and painting figurines and golems to life, making magical decks of cards, and creating magical disguises

The Jewelryneer - specialists in smith's tools, jeweler's and glassblower's tools, calligrapher's supplies, and forgery kits,, an artificer that focuses on magical jewelry, spectacles, glassteel, crystal balls, the magic of light passing through gems,

The Scrivenist - specialists in cartographer's tools, calligrapher's supplies, and forgery kits, these artificers focus on scrolls, glyphs used in defense, runes that add magic to items,

The Hexplorer, more of a jack of all trades - a maker of brooms of flying, flying carpets, helms of water breathing, extradimensional storage, items for magical transport, and other personal items which can make the life of an explorer easier. Basically the idea here would be to give them a lot more infusion slots, but they end up having to use them for more utilitarian things.

The Arcanitect - specialists in carpenter's tools, mason's tools, potter's tools, and smith's tools, these artificers focus on the creation and repair of magical transports (magical crab/fish/lobster undersea vessels, magical flying vessels, witchboats, magical wagons, etc...), magic buildings (castles, clouds with towers, magic factories, magic libraries, magic warehouses, magic prisons, magic wine cellars, etc..), including the creation of a minor form of mythallar which can enhance life by empowering quasi-magical minor magic items in a magical building by using windmills, waterwheels, sunlight gathering mirrors, etc...
