Posted - 06 May 2004 : 20:42:39 Well, I plan on making some stuff up that would be D&D compatible but futuristic. This is going to be including new feats, character classes, weapons, armour etc. etc. Of course, there are going to be some new spells to keep up with times. Each of the new items are, of course, exclusive to that of the "Futuristic" classes, but those of the future still may use spells and feats that are currently being used in the present days of the D&D world. If anyone wants to contribute anything that I mentioned before, post em here! Post your own creations or perhaps campaign ideas that may be suitable. Perhaps ideas to incorporate the past with future. |

Posted - 08 May 2004 : 02:39:09 Wooly is indeed right about the Spelljammer setting D-brane. Mr. Grubb has said this many times when discussing the nature and tone of the SJ setting. In fact, I also believe he mentions it in the introduction to the campaign boxed set as well.

Posted - 07 May 2004 : 19:19:15 I don't think Salabasha would post sth about non fr stuff. But What do you expect to happen in the future, Salabasha? The changes you expect may help us to create feats and stuff as you said. |

There are many more role-playing games in the science fiction genre that are still popular Cult_Leader.
To name but a few:
- Star*Drive
- Star Frontiers
- Anything else from the Alternity line
- Traveller d20
- Spelljammer
- Mechwarrior
- Dragonstar
The three games in red that I mentioned, are those games that are still receiving solid support from their publishers.
Despite the fact that it was set in space, Spelljammer was not at all science fiction. 'Twas all fantasy, with all fantasy stuff -- no high tech at all. |

Posted - 07 May 2004 : 13:25:07 Uhhh..... They already have that sort of thing. They have Plane scape and then they have D20 mod. Which sadly... D20 mod kind of sucks but its actually their version of a future D&D. ... Also ... Not to be mean .... but you would be far bettter off making your setting based on past times not ahead of times. No one really ever plays the new times. To tell the truth to.... The only games that are really doing good are four. Cyber Punk, I think shadow run is still out there and played a bit, along with those two are Mech and Star Wars. ... As for Star Trek ..... I think it was more a flop then a go. Anyway. Sorry but you should really make a setting based on past. It will probably do much better.
P.S: IF YOU DO DONT MAKE IT LIKE THAT CRAPPY GREYHAWK..... |

Posted - 07 May 2004 : 06:11:47 You are aware Salabasha, of a d20 Modern rules supplement called d20 Future?. It's due for release in August and will cover many of the aspects that you mention here.

Posted - 06 May 2004 : 23:53:57 Well, that is a good thing you guys did that, I may check into it to see what you posted. Of course, that has nothing to do with this thread, as I plan on posting own material on it in good time. |

Posted - 06 May 2004 : 23:40:19 Salabasha, we already have one thread talking about the Realms in a thousand years. You also seem to be describing something closer to d20 Modern. |

Posted - 06 May 2004 : 21:56:31 Yes, but perhaps a 1000 years into the future. Maybe a world with more technology vs spells, but magic is still existent. Or, perhaps a world that is with new, more powerful deities. (I will also be making some of these) and magic is dominant over melee. Of course, magic may be non-existing. |
