Posted - 22 Apr 2004 : 15:46:47 Our DM has decided to start a campaign in which I've been thinking of playing a LG sorcerer which acts mostly like an iconic paladin, sweeping away evil outsiders (and undead, but not the primary purpose). Ruleswise I thought on trying the Exalted Arcanist PrC from the BoVD and perhaps adding some Thaumaturgist or Arcane Devote level later.
The main problem, however, comes with finding such a belligerant arcane organization in Faerun. I was thinking of perhaps an arcane faction of the Torm church, but I don't know if there's any info about this (I think in the old Faith&Pantheons there were no arcanists among the Tormtar). Well, I hope you catch the idea of what kind of organization for my PC I'm trying to find.
I'm not a specialist in the Realms (nor I DM there) so can you help me finding it out, please?

Orders try to be very self-sufficient and having a wizard or sorceror becomes nearly a necessity when dealing with unusual magics, extaordinary creatures, or manufacturing certain magical gear.
It would be fairly easy to insert your character into one of these knightly orders for whichever god you feel is best suited.

He seems to want to uphold the ideals that Torm espouses, mainly the removal of evil from the Prime. Even if there's not an arcane "arm" of his church, doesn't mean that you can't start one! There's always a first time for everything! I'm sure Torm wouldn't mind a fireball or two thrown around in his name.........
