Because the wielder of the weapon can continue shooting at his target in a second after the first bolt flew away, his gains +2 attack bonus. In the way it deals damage a self-loading crossbow can be nonmagical, but it is still considered a +2 magical item. Any type of crossbow can be made self-loading. |

I'am sorry, didn't know about it...

I thought that a repaeting crossbow only reloads a bolt, but doesn't pull the string. Never heard of such real crossbows, which fully reload automatically (and without magic).

It's a "magazine" weapon, so you only have to reload once every five shots (provoking an attack of opportunity as normal unless you have a feat to prevent that).
It's also a real weapon. It was invented by the Chinese. However, like the "shotgun" crossbow of Europe, it didn't see much use because of gunpowder. |

If the bonus is supposed to be reflected by the fact that one doesn't lose a bead on their target, then it would only make sense that, if they miss, it won't help them to hit on the consecutive shots.
If anything, they may take a -2 penalty on consecutive shots following a miss.
