I was doing research and found this location on the map north of the singing caves.
I also found one called Port Miir south and trying to find info and/or see they are connection.
Any info out there?

Okay so I've got my sources spread out in front of me.
So during Netheril's time there was a lake east of the Hidden Vale (that big V shape of mountains) which was called Basin Lake.
After Netheril's Fall it would seem that it became called Lake Miir and was the major water source for Anauria, Asram, Hlondath (I call them the Crescent Lands).
Hlondath was too far in the north to have any claim on the lake but both Anauria and Asram had borders on it.
So Anauria built Helvara on the southern shore of Lake Miir. Asram built Miirsar on the northern shore (which seems to suggest Asram claimed the lake first). Both settlements were fishing centres and one would imagine were fierce rivals.
The major reason for such large settlements on the shore of Lake Miir however was because it was a gateway to the Teshan Valley which was also settled by Netherese survivors (those from Seventon proper fled east into the Teshan Valley (on the banks of the river Tesh which were cleared of trees by the 12 Nights of Fire and the SpiderFires long before).
Port Miir was an independent settlement on the eastern edge of Lake Miir that abutted the Teshan Mountains (later renamed the Desertsmouth Mountains). It became a haven for smugglers and other criminals.
Port Miir sat on the start of Berothir's Trail that led through the mountains.
In -75 DR the trading partners with Anauria and Asram united into the Kingdom of Teshar.
With Asram and Anauria's fall I reckon that Hlondath moved south to claim the lands of these two nations and so Port Miir and Miirsar/Helvara survived longer than their founding nations (I realise that some sources say all the lands of Asram were polluted by a plague but that plague is also localised only in Phelajarama and the sources are a bit vague) and continued to trade with Teshar.

Im away from my notes for specific answers but miirsar and port miir were established after the fall of netheril by the survivor states on the banks of lake miir (different sidr obviously).
Ill post morr tomorrow night unless someone beats me to it but i have a few ideas that may not have been picked up yet. |
