Since I only really skimmed 4e, I am not entirely familiar with what exactly makes a primordial, but I belief Kezef, Tyranthraxus and Dendar are now all considered these beings. I also remember reading that Grumbar and the other elemental lords were Primordials but seem to once again be gods.
I'm kind of off my own topic a bit there, because what I really wanted to ask is about the other creatures that were of that power level. Is Ithyak-Ortheel a primordial? If so, what is the latest lore on that creature - I haven't heard anything in a long time. I remember there was also Borem, and weren't there also creatures known as the Shadavar? I would pay just about anything for someone to stat all those guys up for a DMS Guild project! Are there others I am forgetting? |

I allways thought Tyranthraxus is a very depowered(after and due to being deposed as the Oinoloth) Realms version/aspect of Anthraxus(the name Tyranthraxus literally contains Anthraxus). Him referring himself as weak, might be because hie is now a shadow of his former, Oinoloth/Oinodaemon self, and weak compared to other Altroloths, even without a definite form. His Lawful Evil aligment, and name, could be because he was subjugutated, and renamed by the Tyrant Bane.
I discussed sometime ago here on Candlekeep, Shadevari might be a group among Obyriths, possibly related closelly to Pale Night, or her first Obyrith children, than predated her Tanar'ri children(ie Graz'zt).
Rhyxali, Graz'zt's sister, and another of Pale Night's children, is the "Princess of Shadow Demons", "Queen of Shaddonon", being the leader of Shadow Demons/Fiends.
At least once, the Shadevari are called the "13 chaotic lords of shadow", and their status preceding creation, or at least organized creation, closelly resembles obyriths.

Also, Brian R. James confimed on a thread, that the Tarrasque in the Realms, is a Primordial, as were most probaly it's mother Lotan, as well as it's Grandmother Yaldabaoth(aka Tiamat before she was evil).
This also means that probably indeed, Asgorath/Asgororoth/Io was a primordial, as in Brain R. James materials, Asgorath was split into Yaldabaoth(Tiamat), Null and Xymor, before reforming independatly of the three, possibly from the share religious belief of Dragons, and as the god Io.
What may interest you Seethyr, that in Brian's Reign of Dragons(Candlekeep Compendium IV), Lotan was the arch enemy of Azul, and it's Azul who ultimatelly slain her(Lotan). |

* Asgorath/Io is thought to have been a primordial who was brought back to Toril from Abeir by the batrachi in their war against the titans, then became a god when dragons started worshipping him as their creator deity.
* Bazim-Gorag was a Batrachi, who became a slaad lord and then somehow was transformed into a primordial by the Pandemonium Stone.
* Borem of the Boiling Mud might be a primordial.
* Dendar the Night Serpent is both an elder evil and a primordial. He's still trapped outside the Material Plane by Ubtao but can travel freely among the lower planes and the fugue plane.
* Entropy is a primordial trapped in the form of a sphere of annihilation by Ao. He maintains a lair in southern Chessenta and is still worshipped extensively in Luthcheq.
* Ityak-Ortheel is an abomination created of the mingled blood of Gruumsh and Corellon. It is an elder evil, not a primordial.
* Kezef the Chaos Hound might be a primordial

* The Shadevari predated the gods and primordials - they were 13 lords of shadow who became allies of Shar until Azuth banished them to a different Material Plane.
* As Sleyvas said, Telos is a primordial who fell from the sky like a meteor and inspired the creation of the Warlock Knights of Vaasa, but Telos himself hasn't been mentioned at all recently - he could still be around, or he might not be - we don't know. At last mention, he was asleep regardless.
* Tyranthraxus was an unidentified fiend (who, according to his own diary, was a relatively weak example of his kind). He is not a primordial.
* Ubtao was a primordial, until he betrayed his kind and was offered godhood as a reward.
All of the elemental gods were retconned into being primodials but are now available to worship as gods again. Grumbar played a major role in The Sentinel by Troy Denning. |

There's Telos still, since the Warlock Knights of Vaasa are still around according to the Sword Coast Adv. Guide. There's also Bazim-Gorag (or at least I believe him to be a primordial), the Firebringer. Note, I have often wondered if the order of the black flame assassins that serve Kossuth didn't turn to a new master just because Bazim-Gorag had gone away. I'd also venture that a tarrasque probably is some kind of primordial being (though probably a race of such OR a self-resurrecting being). Then there is Entropy down in Chessenta, which is probably tied to Pandorym (and the Imaskari have their history a bit off about its creation <or deliberately concealed>, though they were likely involved and possibly Ao's conduit).
"In -585 DR, Ar-magus Ilviroon summoned Bazim-Gorag to save the wizard school the Tower of the Star from a horde of trolls. Bazim-Gorag scatterd the horde but Ilviroon refused to pay him the high price he demanded. Bazim-Gorag destroyed the tower and slew several of the school's most powerful wizards as well but Ilviroon managed to imprison Bazim-Gorag underneath the tower. The next year, the horde returned, even greater in number. Ilviroon was forced to ask Bazim-Gorag to help once again but this time it was Bazim-Gorag who would refuse and Ilviroon was slain in the ensuing battle.
