Posted - 16 Mar 2016 : 14:52:57 Just a thread for the avatar stats of deities that I'm going to put up. Included will be the usual divine block (titles, domains, subdomains, etc).
Deities themselves are beyond stats. Avatars of demipowers and lesser powers are 30 HD gestalts, intermediates and former intermediates are at 35 HD, greaters at 40. Demipowers have 20 mythic ranks in one mythic path, lessers have 20/10, intermediate 20/15, greater powers at 20/20.
No CR will be given for avatars, because it's hard to quantify 'augmented mythic wish at will'.
Tentative stats for deities I am actively working on (// indicates gestalt):
Bane - paladin of tyranny 30, grey warden 10//dread 20, inquisitor 20 Loviatar - fighter 30//sorcerer 20/pain taster 10 Mask - rogue 25/shadow dancer 10//mastermind (investigator) 25/duelist 10 Myrkul - necromancer 40//cleric 40 Savras - diviner 30//seer (oracle) 30 Shar - rogue 30/shadow dancer 10//sorcerer 30/shadow adept 10 Talona - blight druid 30//poisoner 20, guild poisoner 10 Tempus - fighter 40//warlord 40 Velsharoon - necromancer 30//gravewalker (witch) 30 |

Posted - 17 Mar 2016 : 17:45:15 They're gods; I think bending the rules for them is fairly okay within reason. I gave them MR 20 to show that they're beyond mortal limitations. MR 10 is when you're on the cusp of ascension, like Savras, Velsharoon, Azuth, the Red Knight and the Dark trinity before becoming divine; a legend; a great hero or notorius archvillian and such. I wrote up the Evangelist/Exalted/Sentinel boons for Myrkul in the Running the Realms subforum and I have a half-done herald for him.
On prestige classes, I kind of waive the gestalt rules for deities if the combination makes sense according to their areas of influence.
Divine avatars are going to be pretty powerful. Myrkul's avatar can expend a use of mythic power to create a version of evards tentacles with skeletal arms instead that forces a fort save or die with the added nastiness of ability damage just by being in the field. |

Posted - 17 Mar 2016 : 09:42:41 A couple odds and ends:
1) Have you looked at the deity writeups in Inner Sea Gods? Avatar statistics aren't likely gojng to come up in a lot of games, but there's lots of suggestions for little games rules you can put together for each deity in ISG that the Realms doesn't already have. I particularly like the paired monster entries for planar ally/greater planar ally. There's a lot of room to do cool things with those in the Realms: Selune's shards would work well, and I'm writing up Deimos and Veiros as heralds for Tempus for my own game. Looking at those smaller options will probably give you content and ideas that will see far more play.
2) You have the mythic systems all wrong. Mythic progression through paths uses the tiers, not ranks; you can't have mythic tiers and mythic ranks at the same time; both tiers and ranks cap at 10. Period. Bestiary 4 talks a little bit (see the Appendices) about how mythic rank 10 is divine ability or equivalent, with divinely morphic planes being part of that. In effect, mythic rank 10 is "augmented mythic wishes." Adventure Path #77 talks about how this works in play (when discussing what to do if the PCs pick a fight with Baphomet.) Don't forget that there's no way to take two whole paths; Dual Path allows you more versatility, but nothing else. I'd recommend rereading the rules in Chapters 1, 4, and 6 of Mythic Adventures.
3) If you MUST use the gestalt rules, don't forget that you can only take levels in 1 prestige class at a time.
4) Ashe Ravenheart did a lot of the work identifying what needs to be updated in terms of domains here: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2kngu?Pathfinder-to-Forgotten-Realms-Pantheon I'm currently trying to puzzle out an Elf domain myself right now, but they're much harder things to design than they were in 3e. Be careful. |
