The SCAG says that Lord Dagult Neverember managed to "seal if off" magically. Does anyone have a clue how he managed to do this? Was there more info or literature somewhere that goes into detail about how the Chasm of Neverwinter was zipped close?

We cleared it out in our game. I think it's pretty much safe now. We did a bunch of stuff gradually, I can't remember exactly what shut it down.

That wasn't a new phenomenon. Dropping storylines has been a recurring feature since 3E came out.

I don't think we know any more than that. I imagine it would have been quite a battle though, because lots of aboleths were living inside that chasm. (Btw, for all the talk about aboleths being one of the main threats in 4e, and all the novels they were featured in, they seemed to accomplish nothing.)

Well you can thank pretty much all the foot dragging that went along with continuing the Realms post-Spellplague. LOTS of ideas and plots were pretty much stopped with the coming of D&D:Next and the Sundering.

My thinking was a lot of mages with spells like move earth and wall of stone.
